Actually, at the time this song came out there was a genre of music already out called Electro (some called it Electroclash) that had the 80s synth style, mid to late 90s to early 2000s. When a style of music grows more popular in an underground/club way, eventually the top 40 acts (like Kylie) will have a song or two in a similar style. It's because a lot of videos has been uploaded, re-uploaded and even a third and fourth time uploaded due to youtube changing rules, to clicks that had been fiddled with, record company contracts changing..so on and so forth, endlessly in a rapidly changing world....so that by the time they were uploaded one last time, the songs were already so old hits that people had either forgotten all about them, with new artists and hits coming out all the time..forgotten, or not cared about anymore.
