I agree with you. He's so multi-layered and complex a character and not simply a one dimensional villain. Some Star Wars fans complained he had displays of temper but that elevated his character for me. He's unlike any villain seen in the movies before. In my opinion he's a superior villain to Darth Vader.

I mean Kylo Ren is the only interesting part of these whole movies. You don't know what drives him you don't know his goals and the lengths he took to achieve them and the lenghts he will take to achieve more of them. You don't know what his main goal and motivation are. In terms of character complexity he's brilliant. Adam Driver's pure talent. He's similar to Darth Revan even though Darth Revan is so much more than Kylo could ever be in my sorry opinion.

I like how Ryan Johnson explained Kylo Ren. For this trilogy to be good, Skywalker should appear in the first episode. Should have trained Rey AND Finn. And finally Rey should join Kylo and Finn should help her to return. And finally, all plot was about to Kylo kill SIDIOUS. That is why he was join sith first place and killed father. To come closer to emperor. And the final battle should be Finn Rey Ren vs Palpatine
