The ending back and forth with Rey and Kylo both dying and being healed and kissing etc, people literally laughed and booed. How could Disney take a series with an enormous cult following and turn it into such a steaming pile that gets booed and laughed at on opening night? It's honestly impressive.

runujhkj I’ll probably wait a bit too. I liked 8 but there were some issues I had. Snoake’s death was really anticlimactic but also funny since he was dressed like he was going to bed but stopped by the canteen for a midnight snack and a glass of milk. This big bad only seen on Jumbotron vision that controls Kylo for most of the movie ends up dying like a punk in a housecoat. The escape plan not being very well executed, tons of people still died and the ramming ship shouldn’t have done all that much damage. So yeah I’ll wait

The 'Kills' point is so good. Everyone ignores that Anakin personally blew up a planet and choked every person around him who failed or snarked or annoyed him to death. Idk, I think it’s more of a Voldemort vs Umbridge kinda thing: one’s just plain evil for evil’s sake. And the other, despite having objectively less evil actions, is much more real, arguably because they’re less evil, and thus is a much more compelling and hatable character who _seems_ more evil. One has a high kill count, but most, if not all, of the people they’ve killed we don’t know or don’t really care about, the other threatens things we hold much dearer

@@agentstache135 that's a good point. Also, I think the background plays a part - for all people dislike the prequels, they did show Anakin had a pretty fucked up lot in life, in many aspects. So for all his actions aren't in any way excusable, you can see how he got there. Meanwhile we only get that Kylo thinks Luke was going to kill him, and even so he was already "kind of evil" at that point. Anything else that might have gotten him there is purely speculation, with the added bonus of "loving father and mother" (people usually try to say he had a bad relationship with his parents, but this is actually not supported by the movies - he denies hating Han, and in fact that's why killing him was such a big deal for Snoke; if he had hated Han, it'd have meant nothing). So even if he's objectively 'less evil', he is seen as being more unreasonably so. Which only comes back to how he echoes that whiny, privileged white dude who thinks he's the must injusticed being to ever live, all while oppressing other people.

OMG Jenny you predicted TROS. I was looking at the plot summary for Aladdin 3 and there are actually similarities. 'Aladdin recovers a dagger, his only memento of his lost father, who had abandoned his family when Aladdin had been a small child.' What does Rey find on random sand planet Number 342? Dagger. 'The Oracle directs them to The Vanishing Isle, a great marble fortress built on the back of a gigantic undersea turtle that periodically dives to the bottom of the ocean, where the Hand is hidden.' The climax of the movie takes place on an ocean. And where is the death star? 'Realizing that his obsession with the Hand can cause destruction and his son is actually his ultimate treasure, Cassim throws the Hand.' And what, does Ben Solo throw his lightsaber in the water? You bet he does. 'Iago decides to join Cassim as a traveling companion, and they both go off once again to see the world.' BB-8 and Rey wander of to Tatooine at the end of the movie. And that is not even mentioning the fact that TROS, like Aladdin 3 is a treasure/MacGuffin hunt. You predicted it. I take my hat off to you.

My favorite point and I think the most convincing one we've seen in the new trailer is the fact that Auralnauts pointed out: the teaser ends with Kylo's theme, but shifted to a major key. Sounds like good guy Kylo.
