舞妓さんは華やかな花かんざしや色鮮やかな着物に襟の色と長い帯(※だらり帯）をされています。
芸妓さんは落ち着いた着物に無地の襟の色と派手なかんざしなどの飾付けはほとんどされていません。
仕草や立ち振る舞いにもお互いの魅力があり見比べながら動画を見ても楽しいです。
※帯に家紋が入っており幼い舞妓さんが迷子になっても送り届けてもらえるようにと。
ちなみに芸妓さん、舞妓さんは必ず左手で裾を持たれています。
As for the maiko, a long obi is done by a color and the kimono of a gorgeous floral hairpin and the colorful collar.
As for the geisha, it is hardly done a kimono and the decoration such as showy ornamental hairpins settled down to the color of the plain collar.

堅気(素人)は着物のツマを右手で取り、芸者(玄人)は左手で取る慣習(左ヅマ)なんですよね。 それが今でも守られているようで面白いね。つまみ上げるからツマと言ったのだろうか。優雅な仕草だね。

They are Time tunnels.

They are ochaya (tea houses) or okiya (geisha houses) that the geisha and maiko are affiliated with or indebted to. They visit to pay their respects and ask for continuous support in the New Year.
