Kyrie is gifted and his clutchness and playoff performances will go down in history, but there's a lot of hypothetical shit that gets inserted into the discourse of how good he actually is. Like, ok, he might be the best dribbler and finisher of the ball I've ever seen, but what good are those skills if you can't stay on the court for one reason or another? What good are those skills if you lack the necessary tangibles to not be a locker room cancer at worst and a terrible leader at best? At some point, your skills actually have to materialize into something more meaningful than what Kyrie has given us since the 2016 finals. I refuse to call him the most skilled player ever. Not because he isn't, but because I've seen other great skilled players in this league(Kobe, Steph, Hakeem, etc) actually use their skills to lead teams to championships. I've seen that skill materialize into something real.

@@bikramarora1819 Kyrie is a good secondary option, but he has only been a great second option, when he played with LeBron one of the most dominant players of all time, so a lot of the Cavs success was made possible due to LeBron, Kyrie hit some important shots and he deserves creditt for that. The biggest glaring issue right now for the Nets is Ben Simmons. They need to trade him soon. As of right now during the suspension if I'm Sean Marks I would consider trading Kyrie as well. You're obviously not going to give him an extension or sign him at the end of the season. Where does that leave us? Will Durant ask for a trade again? Not to mention, Ime Udoka cannot solve the Nets defensive issues. He had the personnel in Boston [Marcus smart,Robert Williams,Jaylen Brown], he won't have it in Brooklyn. I've always been on the side saying the nets were overrated since they got together. I said they'd never make it past the second round, mind you this was before they got Harden, with him I thought they had a solid chance, but that was the only time I believed in them. KD is not a leader, nor has he ever been, I've said that so many times through the years and no one listened, but now everyone sees what I did. As for Kyrie, he's a head case. I don't know how to feel about his current situation, nor do I have full context so I won't speak on it, but other things in the past I can like when he said he'd re-sign with Boston, or how him going out of his way bring up government conspiracies on his IG. Then you have poor management on top of all these issues with a bad coach to boot. This team was never going to work, and now it's time for them to make the decision to either weather this storm and keep what they have, or trade for a better future, because this team will NEVER win a championship.

@@dragondragon5437 that doesn't excuse KD's horrible play. If he lost that's fine, I didn't expect them to win anyway, but to get swept by a team you could very easily gotten at least 1 game off of is inexcusable.

The best chance this team had was game 7 against the Bucks in the semis While it’s often looked at as a clutch shot, I often wonder how far this team would have gone if Durant’s foot was a foot back behind the 3 point line

Just so y'all don't forget. KD coulda resigned with the *Warriors* and be on his 7th chip by now sailing into the sunset as the greatest player ever to touch a basketball. Instead he chose this because ego.

Even if KD had won 7 rings with the Warriors he won't be recognized as the greatest ever, his rings are some of the cheapest, low value rings that a superstar has ever won.

Apology? As if. :P It was basically “Sorry if my kicking your face resulted in you crying. But you need to understand, I am God, and kicking your face is what I do.” And that “I am who I am” comment is totally a racist dog whistle that is literally drawn from the video he posted.

You know, the whole world is divided over issues regarding Kyrie and other figures in the media right now and debatably so… but why on earth is it so convenient when he does what he does that it hurts every team he’s on when they need him the absolute most! I respect all of his decisions, but his decisions ruined their chances to get a championship.

The Lakers, Nets and Clippers have like no future since the Pelicans, Rockets and Thunder hold all their picks, respectively. And I doubt any of them can win a title right now, the Clippers maybe but even then that seems off. The Lakers got something out of the trade bubble or not, the Clippers get a new stadium in Inglewood and the Nets will suck worse than when they had Anthony Bennett and Chase Budinger. RIP

Kyrie and the Nets are about to close the end of the player empowerment era. LeBron James and the Miami Heat were an anomaly which failed to repeat itself ever since. Organizations for a long while to come will be skeptical of any players who have ambitions to play GM and this chapter seems to be over.
