I am not your SON, I play and watch basketball. I am not interest in what Kyrie Irving is posting on his social media. If we scrolled through your social media post I am sure that someone would find something that can be taken out of context and use to paint an unflattering image of you. The is the agenda that I am seeing and If you don't see that ok. But I am not your son

While I agree these are objectively wrong takes, I don't think he's tanking his reputation. I appreciate the fandom because objectivity is a myth. Here's what I'll say, while I think it's wrong, the take that kyrie doing poorly means he might be taking these criticisms in a new way is a really interesting one. That point never comes out if brou isn't a fan of the nets. Sometimes just alternative ways of thinking and constructing arguments is what is valuable. And Brou is providing that here. All that said, this man needs to abandon the nets, my god.

I am absolutely sure if a white player called a black player the n word all he’d be saying is people make mistakes. What Kyrie did isn’t a small thing. There’s no reason to believe he doesn’t hold anti-Semitic views and that Alex Jones clip he promoted was from an era where Alex Jones had openly anti-Semitic guests to talk about exactly what was in that video. Kyrie does hold anti-Semitic views, and just because he’s ignorant doesn’t mean he’s not a bigot. Perhaps that’s why he’s not admitting he’s wrong, you know he actually believes he’s not.

@@d3vp131 it’s fair to say he’s been a kook but he’s not the problem with any of his teams. Boston played less great teams when Kyrie wasnt there the one year, and Kyrie was bad against the bucks during the 2nd round exit year, but everyone else on the team was horrible too. A bad series doesn’t mean you’re a bad player. but Kyrie himself led the team to the seeding that got them those easy match ups after he got hurt. Giannis injured him intentionally in the playoffs 2 years ago. Kyrie also isn’t the one who made the nets trade all their assets for Harden, then harden quits on the team, throws games and demands a trade. I can keep going on and on. Kyrie isn’t Lebron or Kobe or anything close, but he’s absolutely a winning player and it takes ignoring context to pretend otherwise

@@MrDSyR Philidelphia was good in 2018 and they beat them in 5. Even though they lost, they took LeBron & the Cavs to 7 games. A year after he left, they sweep Embiid and beat a very good Raptors team that had the 2nd best record in the league. There was evident locker room issues in 2019 that were talked about all year long. People didn’t just bring it up out of the blue after they lost to the Bucks. Kyrie wants superstar luxuries without superstar responsibilities. One of those is taking the lions share of the blame when you flame out the way he did.
@MrDSyR

@@mani-xc9rs Jason Tatum took a 3rd year leap, which is extremely common. He was bad the year prior and horrible in the playoffs. That Philly team you mentioned wasn’t as good as the bucks either. And that cavs team wasn’t very good at all, Lebron was just a monster individually that year. Again anyone can admit Kyrie played bad that ONE series against a GREAT defensive bucks team, but so did everyone else, and every other year there’s been a lot of context the media ignore so that Kyrie looks even worse. Kyrie just recently averaged 27ppg on 50-40-90 and is one of 5 guys to ever even come close to that (25+ on 50/40/90) so to say that he doesn’t contribute to winning just because of out of context Wikipedia stats is bogus and disingenuous. Nick has hated Kyrie for a long time because downplaying Kyrie makes Lebron look better.

Lol, no one is bringing up the 2016 run to talk about current Lebron though. No one is like "well his 2016 success means Bron can be the best player in the world now". At best, people are bringing up his 2020 ring to talk about his capacity to play right now. If we're talking about overall legacy then of course it is brought up and then it will be for kyrie as well. But the context is how is a player going to impact a team right now based on recent history and so yeah, in both cases, 2016 shouldn't be brought up and it frankly isn't being mentioned with respect to Bron.
