Nice 90 Vette! My first first car purchase was a 1990 Corvette, L98, automatic car. First year of the new interior, and back then it was truly welcomed! My water pump also went out with fairly low mileage, 60k miles I believe. I was young, and intimidated by the task, but changed it out myself and ended up becoming quite the mechanic over the years. Anyway, I've heard good things about flowcooler water pumps. Hope yours works well for you.

thanks for checking it out!..i love the car have only owned it since December, has been very labor intensive getting the bugs worked out of it since its a low mileage car but the times i have spent in the drivers seat its been an experience i cant compare to any other car. The pump has been fine but i have noticed the fans dont kick on till like 230 degrees with the a/c off so that ends up being the determining factor on temps..

I have a 1990 as well. Wait until the summer months those temperatures are still too hot for my taste. I have the double row Champion radiator, AC Delco 180 degree thermostat and AC Delco radiator cap, Flowkooler BRA-1688. The ECU control when the fans come on which I believe it's 234 for that main fan, and 238 when you switch the AC on. You can send your chip in to change that parameter. Make them come on 15 degree cooler than factory settings.

Thanks for checking out the video, yeah since this was taken I’ve done a lot of driving and what your saying is 100 percent true. I’ve noticed the ecm is definitely what’s controlling the high temps, never got to drive this enough to ever know what was normal when I did this video. Most of the time I run my a/c to kick the fans on but that is super annoying hate seeing that temp needle max out!!

Have any recommendations for companies who have a different chip?

@@morecars324 I can't remember off of the top of my head, but it was an individual that was on the C4 Corvette web forum. There's a few things that can be done. Delete the VATS (Vehicle Anti Thief System) allow 4 degrees of advanced timing. EGR deleted so you could run full length headers if your state doesn't require emissions testing. I paid less than $200 bucks for the custom burn chip.

Would anyone happen to know what size the bolts are for the pulley?? I have a 91 Z28 with a 350 L98 and can't get a definitive answer on the pulley bolts.

X Do you check your thermostat.? These cars run hot from factory for emissions purpose, they run on the 214 easily. You can choose a different thermostat like a 160.

@@3dvorator from what I understand it has more to do with the fans coming on at that high temp also

@morecars324 if the car is running on stock file bin, temperature for cooling fan is set to 214
