Can we all just appreciate Katya arriving all high and mighty and Jasper and Chloe just doing a double team BEATDOWN on her ego so hard and fast she was reeling and never recovered? That was absolute magic. Never mind the actual grenade, I'd say the biggest grenade was just Chloe staring Katya down after feeding from Eva. That, right there, was a mic drop. Inspired. This is my favourite episode of the show so far, and the fact the end is in sight is genuinely upsetting me. Can't gush about this enough. Jason Carl, you are the storyteller I aspire to be

I really like Chloe right now. A petty, sassy unbound ghoul who doesn't give up on what she wants? Love that for her. I've low-key 'shipped' Jasper and Eva since before she was Josephine. After the flower incident, it became high-key, hahaha. I'm all for that couple, even as they're playing a long-con and play-fighting with all passive-aggressiveness imaginable. Pity it most likely won't end well, but I'll more-or-less happily go down with that ship as it burns. Katya should've tried to feed on the hooded SI person (not as much body armor, wouldn't be an issue when stealing blood), not on Chloe. Feed on the enemy, woman, not on those who can be useful!

I agree with you, but Eva does turn to defend Katya when the latter gets in trouble. She could argue that she didn't "desert" her at all. But her final act is to ignore Katya's call. One wonders how tonight's attack by the Inquisition might cause her to alter any plans she may have been working on in the Cam. This is the sort of thing that can Change Everything, once she has a breathing space to think about it. If Vannevar and Suzanne fell to the Inquisition, which would seem likely, then the Cam is going to be in complete disarray.

@@erichammer2751 I will say, it does seem like the Camarilla is willfully ignorant of the true power of the Inquisition. Their hubris is literally their current downfall. So it's less like they are not skilled and more like their players got new character sheets yesterday, which in game mechanics means that they are far more afraid of theoretically daywalking thin bloods and less afraid of humans that have been subjugated by them for centuries. It's in my estimation that almost none of the players are aware of the Fall of London, so Jason Carl skipped that part and is starting the 2nd Inquisition in LA this time. Hell of a way to be caught with your pants down.

Shayne plays Katya in a way that makes her so easy to hate (in a good way, of course. Characters that you love to hate are important). Like, I'm the type of person that is usually willing to excuse just about anything from characters who have spent a lot of time being mistreated, But Shayne really doubled down on the "this is not someone you should feel sorry for" aspect and I'm definitely here for it. Granted, a large part of my animosity probably stems from the fact that she's actively trying to hurt Jasper, who is my favorite character and someone I just want to protect lol Anyways, I LOVE that Katya was so petty that instead of using Theft of Vitae to steal blood from someone that was actively trying to murder her, she instead tried to use it on Chloe because her and Jasper dared to hurt her feelings (at least that's my head canon). I'm glad it didn't work, of course, but it just made me hate her all the more. Well done.

While enjoying this episode, I found myself cringing when Chloe suggested she and Jasper could get back together. Oh hun, if you only knew. I feel he will always love her on a deep level, because they do have good chemistry and understand of each other. I’m still Jeva trash and I’ll die on this hill. The intensity in which everyone was behaving, especially Eva to Jasper this episode and vise verse, make me sad but I have hope we’ll make it on the other side. THAT ending!!!! Since Chloe was at equal risk from the Inquisition as the vamps, it would appear that she, at any rate, has not been selling the vampires out to the Hunters. And it would appear that she still feels some connection to Jasper despite feeling she was treated unfairly (or even dismissively) by him. Ol' Jasper apparently has some affection for Chloe as well. What's interesting is that there appears to be little hostility between Chloe and Eva (compared, for example, to the hostility between Katya and Jasper). Maybe the Nosferatu can set up a cozy menage-a-trois once things settle down.

Hmm, I'm beginning to see a possible plot development where the Coterie (assuming Annabelle survives her own encounter with the Inquisition, which I expect is next week's fare) have to mount a raid to save Vannevar and Suzanne from the Inquisition. The latter do apparently want to capture the vampires as first preference, rather than kill them, otherwise they'd shoot first and ask questions later.

@@JWPanimation Despite his feelings towards Vanevar, and his allegiance towards the Anarchs as Baron, Victor wants peace instead of war for all Kindred because of the Second Inquisition, to which he has warned many Kindred multiple times. Saving Vanevar is a small price to pay.

@@KalebKing88 I have a feeling the inquisition might be a tool or in league with the Tremere. Perhaps a power play by Strauss? If anyone knows whats going on with the calling of the elders and the rise of the thin bloods, its Strauss.

I know X has lost his way, and that Jasper doesn't want to face his only friend and see what he has become, but I know if anyone can save X and regain some of his lost humanity, it's Jasper. Either way I look forward to the culmination of their bond.

and I was just thinking, that for the next episode, the inquisition could very well rain down on a Annabel, Elanore, thinblood representative (sorry I lost her name), and X reunion, plotting some reconciliation and anarch/TB takeover of Santa Monica. Oh and imagine X having diablerized Therese/Jeannette so that they could "disappear" and continue to dance, more in control of him than ever. And the naive revolutioners become their new puppet. That would look so cool :-D

Finally getting around to binging season 5 and I'm just struck again by the chemistry between Becca and Alex. There's an easy familiarity there that's believable and enjoyable to see. I shipped Jasper and Eva hard because I love both characters and want them to be happy but there's always this uncomfortable tension between them that makes their shared screentime seem almost forced. So, yeah. I guess I'm #teamArchangel now. lol
