2 of these and a ssm/ssi filter module and ive sctratched my Kobol itch so i wont have to wait for the Bobol.

Damn, been trying to figure out what my 2nd OSC would be. This one has my attention. The waveshaper built in at 8hp is really key for someone with a 172hp case.

This reminds me quite bit of the variable waveform of the Sub 37. Very nice that they included an internal level VCA in an 8-HP oscillator.

I wasn’t really planning on buying another oscillator.......damn you 😉

TIP: try Lithium patch cables with Bi-Polar oscillators. It really evens them out. 🤪

Download VCV rack and find a variable waveshape oscillator with built in cv amplitude modulation

I’ve been looking for a VCO similar to the one in the EML Synkey for euro that has continuous waveshape sweeping-and this looks to completely fit the bill! NOW, if I could figure out how to recreate the 13 stacked, pitched oscillators in the Synkey 🤣 Thanks Ben!

not gonna lie the exp lin switch and graphics make me think this is a Dixie2+ ripoff with "cliche" added features that replace little utility. serves right this got spotlight from "free stuff" and "free money" sponsor ships. boring. . .

Hi Nou, I don't think this looks like a Dixie II+, that hadn't crossed my mind. I can see similarities in layout but neither are unique in that regard. The circuit isn't the same and I would strongly argue that the additional waveform morphing and VCA are far from small or useless additions as you seem to suggest. For a start an exponential and linear FM switch existed before the Dixie II+, the choice of component in the switch itself is nothing unique to either of them. The Dixie II+ has octave switches (very useful) and way more waveform outputs (also very useful). 2 FM ins rather than one, flip (soft sync not just hard sync), a sub and a way wider range down into LFO mode. This doesn't copy those things as it's focus is different. Having a variable waveform and also the option to rotate through waveforms even just manually for different points in a patch/recording/performance is handy, that would require re patching on another oscillator. To actual fade between them would require at least one other module to do what this does. So I'd say it was a welcome and interesting thing to have on the WFM. The only similarities I'm seeing are the fact they're both analogue oscillators of a similar size. We could find a lot more analogue oscillators in a similar size to compare and call "ripoff" if you like. But it's not very useful for anyone. For absolute clarity - yes this is sponsored as I say in the video. To add further information for you - that was financial and NOT free stuff. These modules went back to LA67 afterwards. But do you expect me to feed a family for free? Work for free? The content of the video is in no way different regarding free stuff, paid or not and how much I'm paid. I produced demo videos as a service to people. I've worked with Intellijel before, I like them as a company also. But there's no behind the scenes agenda or spotlighting. Remember you're watching a video for free that aims to demonstrate a module to you and also share synthesis and patch tips that you can apply. If you have a Dixie II+ try some of these patches with it, could be cool. I say all this to be clear and open a discussion, it would be great to hear back from you as you seem to be annoyed at the video giving this "spotlight" but also the product itself. I'm totally open to critique and feedback and welcome any further input from you. All the best.

You just sound rather bitter, nothing like the dixie 2+

@@DivKid You made a really fair point and I agree coming with that comment was really useless and out of feelings and not objective opinion. I would be lying telling you that because I am not the one paying you there needs to be a lot more tolerance regarding what products are reviewed. As we see what most of the payments from viewers are these days you can see it greatly differs to magazines and content right holders that you can pay to support all "KZbinrs" in a topic. As much as the 2008 crash hurt music magazines (well recalled in Metasonix's interview from Audio City) I do not think it has any part of encouraging the average viewer to support most of the creators that, truly have to feed and maintain a tricky income. Be it the price of one for very few, or unprofessional business ownership asking the payer to accept 3rd party terms like Patreon, it's all very unattractive. I hope that through this message you can decide to divide your ad videos from devices you are more passionate about. I pay several people on Patreon, would I pay you if you were part of a branded, managed and looked over magazine? that's right chief.
