Labour calls for election in Scotland citing 'chaos in the SNP'

Labour's deputy national campaign co-ordinator Ellie Reeves has told Sky News there should be an election in Scotland after the "chaos in the SNP", following suggestions First Minister Humza Yousaf could resign.

Could argue since 2011/2007 as 2011 is when the SNP won a majority and was a risk to the union, and 2007 when they first won and took over government. It's all "SNP bad". How? Colonialist mindset is strong with them. The Tories haven't been elected in Scotland in 60 years and dictate over us, Liebour haven't won an election since around 2015. In 2 of the 3 United Kingdom General Elections in the last decade, they've only won 1 MP, maxing out at 6 in 2017, only to go back down to 1 in 2019. What gives them any right? Unelected dictators.

She is the wrong Labour Party pundit to ask, she obviously hasn't a clue what has been going on in Scottish politics in the last year? The fact of the matter is that the Greens were likely to leave the coalition anyway because of the missed net zero targets for 2030 and were about to consult with their membership on this. Humza Yousaf also understood that the Greens were making the Scottish government very unpopular with most of the Independence supporting Scottish electorate focussing on issues that basically they were not interested in. The Greens will now pay a price for voting with the unionist parties helping to unseat a Nationalist first Minister.

Bloody cheek !!! A large proportion of Scottish voters remember why Scotland repudiated Labour. Some even remember why Scotland repudiated the Tories. 68 years on the Tories have never been allowed another chance to destroy our country. What makes Labour believe they are any different from tne Tories? The only Parties Scots can trust are the SNP and Scottish Greens. Alba is too small, as yet, to count. These are Scottish Parties. Not branches of English Parties subject to English priorities. If anyone is under the mistaken impression that Independence is a passing fad, they are grieviously misled. With every year that passes the older citizens expire. Younger citizens replace them. And the percentage of Scots supporting both Independence and rejoing the EU is higher the lower the age. Brexit brought about the birth of the disUnited Kingdom. The old queen's death put period to the end of the United Kingdom. In this new age the questions aren't whether Scottish Independence and Irish Reunification will happen. The only question is which will happen first.

There is chaos in the SNP because all that is keeping many parts of them together is the desire to break from the UK. In my youth the SNP were broadly conservative in values. That changed with Salmon and Sturgeon, who had more socialist, liberal values. With both gone, the Presbyterian, conservative values of the SNP will return. Those values are not electorally viable, thank goodness. May Scotland return to a proper democratic situation rather than one policy in Westminister.
