Fishing at Igloo Lake was a bucket list event for me. The fish are spectacular and the lodge makes it a great experience. The food is fantastic, the guides are very good, and new owner Craig is an absolute class act. I left a wading jacket up at a remote lake once and they not only retrieved it, but mailed it back to me, and then fought with Canada Post for months on my behalf when it got lost by the mail. These are good people. And the fishing can't be beat! Can't wait to go back.

I was at the Lodge when Bill was filming. He offered a tip that led to a number of nice fish while I was there, When you are not sure of the direction a fish is traveling, lead him by 5 feet one way, and if no take, cast 10 feet in the opposite direction. Great fishing, the video is a very fair representation of the Lodge.

A very beautiful place and yes definitely one trip in a lifetime. Not the type of lodge where you can easily go back every year unless you are financially very comfortable

Isn’t it illegal to fish for trout in April?
@newflyfisher4 жыл бұрын
Depends upon where you live, have to check regulations. This show was recorded in July.

In Maine you only have to check if it’s catch and release. You can fish for brookies here 10 months out of the year at least. Includes ice fishing.

A 6lb brookie!? What, is Chernobyl near by? Anything over 1lb here in the States is a monster.

A six pound Brookie is Average for Igloo Lake. I was catching lots from 3 to 5 pounds, my son caught one that went over 8 pounds. The secret is in not killing all of those giant Labrador flies!! lots of food= big fish

I live in Maine and I catch 2lb native brookies quite frequently and and 3-4lb are not uncommon if you know the right ponds to fish. Caught half a dozen 2+ pound natives from one pond that I fished 5 times. 2.5 mile hike into it tho.
