Thank you very, very much for those DIY videos. They are really teaching me to keep my beard as I like, particularly this one. Worth mentioning, the "mind blown moment" on the other video and this one where you lean the head back to produce a straight line on the lower part... I still feel dumb for not knowing this earlier, and thankful for being taught on your videos! Keep up the awesome work!

I love Kratos and God of War but the anatomy was my favorite part of the video. It helped tremendously in debating what I'd like to do with my yeard later, my original goal was the Kratos/Ducktail but I am starting to think round/The Boss style. This made me realize I need to research more on full beard styles and beard anatomy. Luckily, I'm only on my 3rd month of the yeard and have plenty of time. Thanks Matty! Incredible video, you slayed the Kratos again.

I have only had bad experiences with barbers 3 by 3 they took off almost 6 months worth of length off cuz they couldn't handle my beard. So i stoped going to barbers for years. Seeing your dedication to the craft it's giving me hope that there might be a local barber that can deal with my beard. Great content. Keep it coming.

Late to the party my friend, I apologize for not somehow finding your channel sooner; I’ve been cutting my own hair since marrying my beautiful wife twelve years ago. However I haven’t quite had the patience to grow out my beard to the point where I could shape it and have fun with it. I love what you’ve done here, it kind of reinforces some ideals that I’ve come to know by clipping my head and made me confident that I can do my beard too after another month or two of growth. I use very similar products to fade and outline my own head and the use of the word “flyaway”, I knew immediately what you meant by that and I’d been hesitant to cut those until now. Thanks brother.

My dude and fellow Canadian! I stumbled upon your channel just now and love this vid! Just this past year I've decided (with a lot of encouragement from my wife) to grow out my beard. But I've always gone to my hairdresser to let her trim it up. Mostly because I don't trust myself to do a good job. But with this instructional vid for one of my favorite types of style, methinks I'll try my hand at this and save me some cash! Thank you very much and I'll be sure to check out your other videos too.

Hey, Matty! I highly recommend you invest in a dedicated microphone (if you're not using one already) and a pop filter. The pop filter will shield the microphone from those sudden bursts of air that you can shoot into it when speaking out plosive consonants ( like "p" in the word "pick" at 8:33 ), making your voice-over narrations leveled out and even.

I love the video! and the style, because within that there is something long, it must be worked and serious. I used to always fix my beard myself and I got to wear it below my chest! Today I'm wearing a long but shorter style, about 3-4 inches. I love Kratos' style, I've even thought about doing it myself but I've been visiting a barber for a year, it doesn't really make it perfect... but I think it's better than what I can get myself, it already scares me touch my beard by myself! I always end up seeing one side longer than the other and I end up cutting more than necessary.

I'm now Learning to start over, I'm thinking about this style as mine looks very blocky, and kind of starts to split in two down the middle. I use scissors, not sure I'd like to risk the clippers. But hey it will grow back, eventually. Great content, subbed.

This took some courage to try at home going from a square shape to a triangle and having never touched the shelf myself - but it turned out great! Possibly the best beard trim I’ve had and certainly the cheapest haha. I feel like after a week I already want to touch it up tho - does that sound about right? It seems like a different animal just keeping it neat vs a major transition - perhaps a video on general maintenance for those that would prefer to do it once a week to keep it in check rather than wait a month for it to get unruly and then do an overhaul. I am also bald so for me I find i need to touch up my sideburns to fade to bald even after a few days (I shave my head every day) which in turn be throwing off the rest of it as it isn’t all growing in unison

Is it just me or is his jawline somewhat shining through from 20:00 onwards? I think that is the tricky part of that style it isn't just a triangle pointing downwards but also somewhat forwards. Which is probably easier done in the computer than with real hair (without applying excessive products)

Legend thank you. My beard was getting too long to manage on my own so I trimmed it down to have a 1 inch beard which I think looks neater on my and way more manageable.

Nice work! Love these “How To” vids. The second mirror is awesome, I can’t do side work without it, nor can I see good enough anymore without glasses! My bifocals don’t work because of the focus range but I found my “computer” glasses for work are the exact focal range I need. So for anyone struggling with glasses to see clearly, if you happen to have single correction glasses for computer work, try them!

Another outstanding video!! Catching up after our ALASKA and BC trip!!!!! YEA!! OMG I am sooooo upset that I didn’t try to connect and get a trim from the master on our way back from the arctic circle and Prudhoe Bay! I sure could have used a proper grooming after over a month in the deep arctic. Maaaaaan!! We were right near you too! Well, next time I suppose, and I should book now huh? 😂 Cheers as always and such an inspiration to all of us bearded men!

Thanks Matty, I’ve no idea who Kratos is but I do like the shape and your videos are amazing, I’ve learned so much. Just regarding your comment about going to see your barber, I really don’t know many barbers that are trained to cut a longer beard aside from a general shape up. Most barbers I go to have no idea (not that I’m an expert, but what they do seem contrary to what you say) so I’ve taken to DIY and it does look better.

Amazing insights. You make it look easy with all your experience, so the advice about getting to the barber is the best. Thanks! You’re doing a brilliant job.

Cool video, Matty! It would be great if you could suggest beard styles for baldies (like me) other than old Kratos' ducktail. Thx!

This was really useful video again. Thanks especially commenting that trimming your own beard might or is more challenging than trimming someone others beard. Good stuff !

Another great video. Thanks for your time. The white shirts may show the mess, but they are a borderline necessity when your beard is longer. Ya, the side mirror. I thought you just weren’t using one for people that don’t have them.

Hey Matty, I’ve really enjoyed these beard videos. I can trim my clients beards all day, but I struggle with my own. My guess is my left-handedness lol. Anyway, this really helped and I can’t wait to apply some of these tips to my own beard as well as my clients. Thanks
