Not only great instructional but also very good filming quality!

Agreed. Nothing out of focus, nothing overly zoomed in, different relevant angles. Looks totally professional. I wish everyone did it this well. Perfectly clear explanations as always. High quality work.

Nasty ankle lock! Love the Lachlan/Mikey combo, two of the best competitors/instructors breaking down Jiu Jitsu for audiences is only going to elevate the sport and practice. Love this combo! I hope Lachlan will be able to travel to the USA soon and compete at WNO.

Very high quality video! Perfect sound, light, camera angles and of course the jiujitsu. I also like that you're explaining the mechanics from your PhD perspective.

These ankle attack principles are what I was taught several years ago when I first started learning leg attacks.

That's how Reilly Bodicomb finish ankle locks. It is like a toe hold
@JamesBond6623 жыл бұрын
Reilly Bodycomb actually teaches the ankle lock in this manner. He's such an underrated leg locker/instructor and his instructional is highly beneficial, if you're looking to get into leg locks.

Reilly doesn't get enough credit. Also, his grip is different from the grip Mikey used here.

@@Damian-dv6qx I agree, he was showing great stuff many years ago...probably before Danaher/Cummings/Ryan/Jones etc.

I think Junny was limping after that if I remember the match correctly. It was a deadly submission that anyone would have tapped to, and if they hadnt rolled out of bounds it would have ended the match for sure.

Would this be illegal in IBJJF ruleset (for below brown and black belt)?
@jasongauci6342 жыл бұрын
I’d say yes because we can’t reap but im sure someone will answer us

Is pulling the knee inward IBJJF legal below brown belt? (Before the reap)
@HerbsOTW3 жыл бұрын
Illegal with the reap for brown belt and up in Nogi. In Gi or for anyone below brown belt you aren't allowed to force the opponent to go that way, but if they do it themselves you can follow (without the reap). Hard for a ref to distinguish the difference between the two, so it's a risk

The C Terra ankle lock has the leg going from the inside to the outside. This is using the reap.
