Miranda R Bernie sanders solutions is horrible 1) bernies ideas will ultimately end up taxing the middle class to a crazy amount to where people like myself who are middle class and went to college and got a degree will end up living like working class citizens. 2) he wants to increase the minimum wage right? Sounds good but let me tell you what the wealthy CEO’s of these companies are going to do. Since minimum wage is increasing and they are going to be loosing more money since they have to pay their employees more these CEO’s and owners are going to increase the prices of what they are selling. That includes housing, clothing stores, fast food places like McDonald’s, etc. and because of this his plan to increase minimum wage does nothing but hurt us in the long run even more. 3) he wants affordable healthcare for all right? Sounds nice but how is this going to happen? He’s plan is to increase taxes on the middle class by over 10%. Which would be more then what most middles class citizens are currently paying for, for their own personal health care insurance. Making Bernie health care policy way more expensive. 4) he wants free college for public universities. This sounds good except for the fact that the issue isn’t so much that college is expensive now, it’s the fact that people aren’t getting jobs in the fields in which their degrees are in. Their aren’t enough jobs in general that are hiring all these new college graduates in what fields they got their degrees in. For example you got almost 40% of college graduates that actually get jobs in the fields in which they majored in. The ones that aren’t are working in retail or other positions that don’t pay as nearly as much as what you need to pay off student loans. Bernie sanders ideas our good if this country was a Utopia. But we are not and at the end of the day it’s all about money. The government is just as much of a cooperation as any other business and they need money to do things like this which will end up coming out of our pockets. Also do to do a lot of the things he wants he will need to get past the senate and guess who has control of the senate, Republicans, none of his ideas will actually end up coming to fruition. He will be like every other politician which is someone with empty promises.

To my own research In USA, individuals living in cars due to partial homelessness result from a complex interplay of factors. High housing costs relative to income, stagnant wages, and income inequality drive this issue. Job loss, weak social support, medical expenses, evictions, and lack of affordable housing also contribute, while systemic problems and inadequate policies further perpetuate the phenomenon.

Considering the present situation, diversifying by shifting investments from real estate to financial markets or gold is recommended, despite potential future home price drops. Given prevailing mortgage rates and economic uncertainty, this move is prudent, particularly due to stricter mortgage regulations. Seeking advice from a knowledgeable independent financial advisor is advisable for those seeking guidance.

If there are size and height limits for new construction, the only way for the developer to make money is to make them 'premium' condos. Anything else is not worth the investment. Look at San Fran, they don't let anyone build new units because of 'gentrification'. While the actual ethnic people can't afford to live i the city anymore. Free market is the only market. My wife’s friend used to live near San Francisco with her husband. Both worked at a fast food restaurant and they were barely making paycheck to paycheck. When she got pregnant, they decided to move to Idaho since they both knew there was no way they would be able to live with a 3rd mouth to feed. Well it’s been 3 years now and they have 3 kids, are renting a house (their old apartment is the size of their current living room), she’s a stay at home mom and her husband is a supervisor at a fast food place. His current salary is higher now BUT still lower compared to their combined salary when she was working in San Francisco. Cost of living is so low that he is able to support all of them without her having to work. She said that with his salary, they can eat out at least once a month, support their hobbies (WoW players), have a comfortable life and if they’re frugal enough, go on a vacation trip. All this from a salary $15< hr. There’s a better way, these people just need the info.

@Alpha Centauri Question #1.) If the opportunity does not present itself, for whatever reason - this won't be a question to ask. Please spare me the outdated thrift store self help paperback book message how all of us can become rich if we just try..... 2.) It would be nice if everyone stopped and thought about how much children cost to raise, but ooooops pregnant again. We will have to make it work. Somehow......Again, not everyone thinks the way you do or believes in not having children or has access to birth control or whatever. 3.)Paycheck to paycheck makes it hard, sometimes impossible to move laterally, or any other way than the daily grind.....Once again, not everyone fits into a nice mold. No one is suggesting it is anyone else's fault. Perhaps it is no one's "fault", just a set of circumstances. Why is it important to judge someone based on income only? Well, I am one of the lucky ones. And I never take that for granted or use it as a tool to make myself more worthy than someone who doesn't. Imho, this is one of the richest countries in the world and there is no excuse to not do a better job with our own.
@PDogB4 жыл бұрын
@Alpha Centauri Great that your plan to move worked out the way you wanted it to. Why do you assume that option is available and/or will work for everyone? One example may be someone in place due to needing to help out a sick family member,etc,etc. Not everyone has a choice, and some of these people are not "expecting" or actively able to make changes. People are humans and do what they need to do for whatever reason. Lol, why is that my problem? Alpha Centauri, what planet are you really from? You know as well as I do, unless you are like 13, there are many, many planned and unplanned births. Once again, in your world everything is decided,predicted and flows on a decision based plan. Seems to work for you, but you can't speak for everyone. Some are better positioned to help others as well, including large corporations,etc. Some do and imho, others should. Live a little and get back with me in 20 years. BTW, I agree that the economy is good. It has been in a slow recovery since the Bush administration, despite Trump saying it's all on his watch.
@chrystallee55284 жыл бұрын
@Alpha Centauri obviously everyone is not a part of this current great economy. There are thousands of homeless, working people in every major city in America. As predicted a decade ago, there is an ever growing chasm between the haves and have not's. This social divide will eventually turn into a violent uprising against you folks that do "have" if not corrected. Even stock markets have corrections. Don't judge people based on your circumstances. They have them in Washington but it's not acceptable for families because each child has to have enough space and 2 heartbeats per room, must be same gender per room as well, that being said not possible, as for the families that get housed it's only until their youngest child turns 18 so it's acceptable to kick them out, while doing weekly inspections until then to make sure nothing is out of place or illegal such as pot and any alcohol can get their kids taken and kicked out, a full sink of dishes, a dirty toilet etc, that being said try not to be over worked or under the weather for too long... A lot of the places don't allow changes such as additional furniture.... Yeah lots and lots of rules us "homeless and lower classes have to abide by..." For those that dont work at the post office, you wouldn't understand. It takes a LOT to transfer from one office to another. The transfer has to be approved by the postmaster where you work and where you want to go. The office you want to go to has to have an opening. If you're not a regular, which I can tell this guy is not because he makes only $17 an hour, he will not be able to transfer to another office. For a non regular (PSE - clerk or CCA - carrier), you lose all seniority to go to another office, which makes it longer to make regular and get full benefits and guaranteed raises every 46wks. And because regulars wanna transfer too, PSEs and CCAs have less chance to transfer because of them. They also suggest to PSE and CCAs that wanna transfer to another office to resign their position and reapply where they wanna move. Problem with that is if they aren't hiring. As well, you then get put at the bottom of the seniority list and start back at the lowest pay grade. His best option is to continue to looks for assistance with housing. He should be able to find something because of his income total with a family of 4 and the fact that he has a son with a disability. I hope he can make it. I'm a regular carrier in Southern California and it is pretty tough, but I make it on my own, with no financial support from anyone. But I'm only able to do it because I get pay increases every year.

Someone who knows him (the father who has a postal job) suggest a sound but used RV, large enough to have beds for each family member. Some class C's have bunk bed "rooms". It can be parked in some locations in a city, though you have to follow laws. There is BLM land where you can park safe and for free, using dump/fill stations (find apps and websites for free online that help you locate these). And there are RV parks with full hookups. It's a safe, temporary solution and one that he may find more affordable. It is hard times financially. Things are getting really bad for retirees in Florida too, due to taxes and inflation. There are bad areas all over the US, and a growing "Nomad" community, who aren't homeless but literally live on wheels of some sort. My best wishes to all in difficult situations financially.

He has to hope there is a position for him to transfer into in Texas. Making $17 an hour at the Post Office, it's very clear he is a PSE, non regular. So he is likely maxed out on pay until he gets converted to regular which would give him full benefits and guaranteed raises every 46wks. As a PSE if he wants to transfer, he loses all seniority so it puts him back on the list to try and make regular for the better pay and benefits. He could resign and reapply somewhere, but then runs the risk of not getting hired if they aren't hiring anyone at the time. Clerks who work the mail in the offices have a harder time finding jobs in other places because those jobs, unless in a plant, are ones that are rarely vacant for long. I hope the best for this man and his family. I really hope they can find a place to call home soon.
