Am I the only one who's excited for Atlas to finally get some possible characterization and va work? Up until now he's been a mysterious shadow in Lackadaisy, so I think it's cool that we're finally gonna see what kind of person he was before he died.

On the one hand, it IS exciting, but on the other hand, I think a big part of the Lackadaisy story revolves around the fact that nobody really DID know what kind of man Atlas was before he died, with the possible exception of Mitzi. I always felt like it was implied that Atlas was not a very expressive man and when he did express himself, it was more calculated than genuine. He was whoever he needed to be for whomeever he was talking to. That's how he managed to get so many disparate people working together under him. He kept so much of himself hidden and allowed others to "fill in the blanks" with idealized versions of him that suited their own needs and wants. In truth, I don't think anyone really knew him or his motives. At least, not anywhere close to their entirety. So, revealing that, while interesting, is something that feels like it should have some significant gravitas, if it's done at all. A big "season finale" sort of thing, if you will. And I also think that there's a strong argument to be made for NEVER revealing that information. Letting the audience only know Atlas the way the characters do, through memories and second-hand descriptions from others. As you mention, his shadow has loomed over Lackadaisy and, in many ways, I feel like it's presence is key to the entire plot. Once you shine a light on that shadow, the intrigue and mystery evaporates. It'd be like watching a murder mystery where the audience sees the criminal in the first few scenes. There's no point in watching the rest because the suspense is ruined. But, ultimately, I trust Tracy (enough that I actually even remembered her name and I'm horrible with names) and her writing enough to be sure that whatever she chooses, it'll be great.

Every time I read the comments on a Lackadaisy video I have to wonder if some people are just trolling or if they somehow genuinely don't know that Lackadaisy is a multiple-award-winning webcomic that's been running for nearly 20 years. EDIT for comments: Yes, that's my point. Disregarding how the comic was so heavily advertised in webcomic spaces between 2010 and 2017, even if they've only first heard of Lackadaisy because of the pilot, it's already been over a year since it came out, and almost every video on this channel including the pilot (many of the earliest of which are streams of drawing actual comic panels) has a link to the Lackadaisy Patreon, if not the actual comic itself, in the video description. Though I remember hearing about a poll once where something like 70% of people answered that they don't read video descriptions.

Ya'know, this reminds me of when Ivy first learned Viktor had a daughter and a wife, I didn't know they knew each other for so long and she didn't know. Why would he keep this a secret from her for so long? She was just a little baby what would she do? Did he go out of his way to prevent a child from knowing he had a daughter about her age and then keep that a secret even as she (Ivy) came to be a lot like a daughter to him too for over a dozen years and most of her life? The message his daughter sends suggests that they and the rest of his family keep in close touch (for the time, it's important to remember a single letter was expensive and took weeks to send) but not as close as he likes, so why does he keep it a secret from the person closest to him? Especially when Elsa knows?

And as for why Elsa would know, he has a different relationship with her, like how they're both dealing with PTSD from the war. Like they "get" each other. This franchise really is good at making you nostalgic for a time you could have never possibly experienced... and it doesn't rely on referencing pop culture and a 13 year-old's sex jokes, but does the hard work and tries to faithfully recreate the particular time period through research, research, research.
