the police kicked in my door last week looking for a guy that I did not know and everyone knows wasnt at my home. I told them if they had a warrant I would let them in....one literally told me if they had to get a warrant they were going to make it hard on me. Im starting to look for an attorney but I dont know any. I filed a complaint at the local police office and requested the videos from all the cops that I talked to that night and the statement they used to get the warrant. I dont even know those people. When I was released they told me they found things in my house but wouldnt tell me what they found in my house. I think they were just trying to further intimidate me. I looked online and tried to find an attorney near me but havent gotten a response in 2 business days. The second I got back to my house I was told by my neibor that the guy they were looking for had been at their house across the street the day before. what can I do? they broke down my door even though I told them I would open it when they have a warrant and trashed my place

Also there are two instances where they can continue to ask questions once an arrest has been made public safety exception or if the person keeps voluntarily making contact. In this video he clearly kept talking and voluntarily interacting with the officer.

I would love to hear JM comment on his training as an officer. Specifically, I believe the Academy does spend time (however little) on the Constitution and our rights, then conversely, spends lots and lots of time, both at the Academy and with the FTO on how to leverage citizens out of their rights. There seems to be a universal script of escalating threats from inconvenience, to financial hardship to loss of freedom culminating in physical harm that sadly sometimes ends up in death. The farther an officer gets from the academy in terms of time, and the amount of success he has with the escalating threat matrix, he seems to start to believe he has the authority to force his will.

In reply to @shakey2634's comment about police training, may I suggest that everyone who watches these videos downloads and prints the Basic Training Curriculum of the Dallas Police Academy, as an example. It is an eye-opener to say the least! It gives the number of hours lectures/lessons allotted to each subject. The one that is allotted the most hours is Physical Training which requires 62, yes 62, hours. The section which includes the US and Texas Constitutions, Bill of Rights, and CJ System is titled 'Fitness and Wellness, and Stress Management' of all things. The five subjects in that section each get 8 hours, so cops study Physical Training longer than the most important subject, namely The US Constitution. No wonder they don't know much about the laws they are paid to enforce.
