Ms. Gaga did the most amazing job when she sang with Mr. Tony Bennet. She was in his mind and soul during the entire performance. Simply outstanding. My father, who was a music teacher and died from dementia 20 years ago would have benefitted from some music therapy. His friends did come to sing to him on his last days and he cried.....the first emotion we had seen in a year from him and then he passed 2 days later as if he needed that music to be at peace.

The story about your Dad is very moving. I'm happy he found his peace through it. I think music creates the most powerful connection to our emotions. Brenda Staeb 💜that's wonderful. I wanted my dad to have that too. There was music where he was but thought he would've benefited a lot from listening to his favorites. Unfortunately, I was in a different state so I wasn't able to do that for him. I'm glad you did that for your dad. Alzheimer's is such a rough thing to watch a loved one go through. Sorry that you know what that's like. My grandfather died from it too.

When my late mother had Alzheimer's, in a way I had to forget along with her, meaning I had to release who she used to be. Dwelling on the incredible loss of who she used to be only sustained sadness, not connection. You have to meet them where they are in the present and be surprised by redefined small moments of joy.

I'm a caregiver for my 89 year old Mother for 5 years now and I haven't had her as she was for a very long time, but I don't know if I'll be able to ever fully accept who she has become. I am also human and struggle with my own form of mental illness that may be part of the reason why I have such a mental block. There is some guilt, but she is nothing like she used to be. It's such a disconnect for me. The reality is she was my best friend, and we were so close and I just miss her so maybe I am a bit selfish, but again human.

The person below called Lady Gaga a class act. Who could argue with that? There are a lot of "stars" out there, who can sell out a venue, and yeah, they can give you a good show for the money. Then there are those other "stars" out there - and we all know who they are - they do all that, sell tickets and albums and songs. But their real shine is off stage, away from their work, when you can see all that heart and all that passion being thrown into things that benefit a great good - whether that may be just for one, or it may be for many - both equal important. Those. Those people. Those are the REAL STARS! They're the ones that generations are proud to say they were one of ours. Thank you Lady Gaga for being one our generations true stars. Thank you for what you do on stage... but more importantly.. thank you for what you do off of it.

I cared for my Mimi through Stage 2 until death from AD. Now my husband -- who was already the victim of a gay bashing in the 90s and has organic brain damage -- had a stroke last year. He now has all the symptoms of late Stage AD. I'm his only caregiver. We've been together 19 years and he's only 54. This is going to be a long road ahead. Very long. We need better healthcare in this country and better support for caregivers. I live on my last leg every day. Alone in a hurricane...

Tony Bennett is very, very lucky to have her around now. And she's very lucky to be with such a respectable, talented human. I took care of a family member who was on a slow slide for over ten years. It was painful, but what is undeniably true is they are still in there, and they can still receive. It is inconceivable to not put in the effort and time to maintain a connection with them. It takes time and patience, but nothing is more important. Staying away because "it's so hard to see them like that" is, frankly, quite selfish. You're the best of humanity, Ms. Gaga.

Caregivers need to realize that they are not alone and that this disease affects millions. Patience with your loved one is absolutely necessary as is the understanding that your loved one does not want to be a burden to you. The disease is absolutely merciless and unfortunately there isn't much anyone one can do once the disease starts getting into the middle stages of its course. I would love to see all Big Pharma in all countries increase their efforts on finding medication to reverse this nightmare of a disease. Good luck to all who are facing this with a family member, my prayers are with you.

I never thought much of her until I heard her sing for the first time. She really has a talent. Her friendship with Tony Bennett, who we all love, is so sweet and sincere. I really can't get enough of her interviews.

Thank you so much Gaga for such a beautiful interpretation to the mystical world of Alzheimers. I was a CNA for many years and can only tell you, I have learned so many love languages from the people I cared for. It really is a full focused listening skill one must develop in order to help the person “understand”. So, I worked for the Sisters of St Joseph I’m their long term care facility. I love our memory care unit. One day, around 4 pm (sundown) I was sitting at the nurses station doing paperwork and waiting for the other CNAs to finish their 15 minute breaks. The tv room for the residents was right in front of me and everyone was beginning to get very antsy. So, I called out “Our Father” and everyone sat down, pulled out their rosaries and started praying! When they finished that I called out, “Hail Mary” and off they went right into a nice Rosary 🥳
