So beautiful and colourful. Lovely that here are facilities for people with other possibilities than ours to be accepted and given useful chances. Wine in a lemonade glass, the last time I did that I got more than tipsy. It is almost dinner time, not good to watch food videos. 😂😂😂😂😂😂The magic of chocolate. Good to see Matt and Marti there with you. What a feast. What a gorgeous setting. That swing with the wings.....oh too much to mention. Gorgeous places and yummy food.

It was so fun to spend time with Matt and Marti there, and so funny that we ended up being neighbours for one month. San Juan La Laguna is our favourite place around Lake Atitlán 💙

We really recommend this little town of San Juan La Laguna. If you love food, coffee, chocolate and wine in beautiful settings you should definitely visit San Juan 🇬🇹💙

That's such a nice restaurant and love the translation of it. The Italian sandwich and wine looked like a great lunch. But you definitely had my attention at the chocolate cafe and the Italian restaurant with the cheese and meat platters! Wow. The last spot was so cute. I'd love to take photos on that swing and in the heart. Great stops.

I always love to try new food. Especially if it looks so delicious. Those birds in Alma de Colores were so nicely painted. Atmosphere of Italian restaurant was so nice, all the greens around you looks so nice. The chocolate looks so delicious and when you said that this is fresh chocolate made there I wished that was my hand going for the chocolate. :) I always go to the market when travelling around, you can find the best food there. So nice that the parents visited you in Guatemala. And you left the nicest place for the end, so nice, loved the wings.

We were worried about you guys when we heard about the devastation that the recent hurricane caused Guatemala- hope you're both safe!! Those tortillas look amazing and SO thick! We don't drink coffee anymore, but a coffee and banana smoothie sounds DELICIOUS! Wow 50 different kinds of wine sounds incredible- right up our alley!

The views are great in the evening. And as Italians judging Italian food there how horrible should that have been to the owners. Was the cheese really acceptable there?
@DreamyTravelStory4 жыл бұрын
If we wouldn't have been happy with the food in the Italian restaurant we would never have featured the place in our video and we wouldn't have complained to them either. Why we are saying in the video that Giorgio and Marti are Italians and know how good Italian food should taste like, is because then you as a viewer really understand that the Italian food really is amazing there, compared to me for example who is Swedish and not an expert in Italian cuisine. Everything was absolutely delicious, also the cheese! 🧀
@Svenywhere4 жыл бұрын
@Dreamy Travel Story I am happily surprised they managed to get some good cheese there! It is very hard to find this abroad. And I hope you also cover places that disappointed you, so we know not to fall for the same trap 👍
@DreamyTravelStory4 жыл бұрын
Yes, sometimes we feature places we don't like or that are proper traps but not small independent businesses in a country where many people struggle to just survive.

Would you recommend San Juan La Laguna as a base for Lake Atitlán vacation? Which town do you recommend as a base?
@DreamyTravelStory3 жыл бұрын
Each town has its own unique charm and vibe which makes it tricky to recommend one specific town to stay in 😊San Juan is a really cute town and much more quite than let say San Pedro or Panajachel. Some people prefer though to stay in for example San Pedro or Panajachel because there are more things to do there in the evening. We stayed in an Airbnb on the hill between San Pedro and San Juan, and we liked that location. We could walk or take tuktuks to both San Pedro and San Juan. Some days we took the boat to visit the other villages around the lake. If you want panoramic view of the volcanoes San Marcos or Santa Cruz are better options. If you are staying for a longer period in Lake Atitlán maybe you can book just a few nights, and then check out the villages and decide which one you want to stay in 😊 No matter where you decide to stay we are sure you will like it 💙
