This 8.25 mile hike in the Lake District Eastern Fells takes in two Wainwrights and one Hewitt (Striding Edge [High Spying How], which I mistakenly said was a Birkett, and actually completed my Lake District Hewitts).
Long ascent to Birkhouse Moor.
Striding & Swirral Edges are rocky, exposed and have challenging scrambles!

I have been waiting all week for this. That was brilliant in every sense. So glad you are OK after your fall, like you said, you were very lucky, it could have been so much worse. Charlie is fearless, what a great companion, you make a great team out there. Stunning scenery. Loved it. Made my Sunday 🙂

Well Sally, I’m a bit lost for words - what a lovely comment 🤗 So glad you enjoyed it. There were some fantastic views, and the “ridges” were spectacular. That ankle which let me down tweaked a couple of times today too. Hope it’s nothing serious 🧐 We’re weren’t quite so lucky with the views either 😞 Charlie is an absolute hero in the hills - puts me to shame! He only has 3 Wainwrights left to do now, in about TEN years less than it took me!

@@TonysTrails I didn’t realise that there was a lower path option at the Bad Step. I’ve done it a couple of times, once queuing with lots of people, once in really bad weather with just one other and a sheep at the top. So that was good to learn too. Mm..hope your ankle is 100% stable soon 🤞 Charlie is definitely a hero, so lovely to watch. Looking forward to the next adventure. Happy “special” birthday for next week 🎂🎉🎉

@user-dj6gd7jn6f Thanks Sally. Due to the time between filming and posting, I’m already over that “special” milestone. Charlie still has his to come though 🎂🐕🎉

I went over on my ankle about a year ago, scared the living daylights out of me. What i thought was grass, wasnt, it was a rather deep hole, and i went straight down it. 2 miles back to my car. Took weeks for my ankle swelling to go. Whilst in Wales in April, walking along fine, then wham straight over, same thing. Now i walk slower and with more care. I'm glad to hear you are ok.

It just shows, you can’t be TOO careful. Hope you don’t have any more mishaps.

Hiya. Watch alot of walking videos have just found your channel. Very good and very informative. Like the way you talk about the walk and what you see around yoù instead of how expensive your walking boots are.... keep it real pal....

Cheers Dave. Don’t really know why I’ve never got round to Striding Edge before. Not in a rush to go back though - FAR too busy! I’ve settled on a regular bunch of settings for my vids now, from under-exposing during shooting, to applying colour management during editing. I film on my iPhone & edit with DaVinci Resolve on laptop. How did your camp go?
