Lake State Railway Paines to Saginaw April 6, 2024

Part 1 of 2 of a Paines to Wixom 90 car grain train chase being lead by a pair of SD50-3 locomotives.
In part 1, we follow light engines from Saginaw Yard to Paines where they tie onto 93 cars handed off from Mid Michigan Railroad, then back to Saginaw across the short, slow Paines Subdivision.

That truly is a sorry sign of the times regarding the entrance gate. One of those slow agonizing trips but at least it didn't hit the ground. CSX thankfully actually gives them decent cars to load. When they're getting ready to leave on That Old Black Bridge was that actually a screw open type bridge for a boat to pass by? Love the other River Crossing plus the derelict elevator and then the train hugs the street really tight. Nice catch

Hm I’m not sure about anything on that short sub, including the bridge, it was my first trek out there. That crunchy elevator was nice, and even on a photogenic curve, which made it all that much better. I definitely want to get my drone over the saginaw river to pace a train someday. I appreciate you taking the time to watch!

Thank you! Yes, same crew. They only made a 10 minute stop in Saginaw to cut those last three cars then highballed outta there. The Saginaw Sub luck is better, faster, and even has a couple drone shots. I’m still editing those in. Thanks for watching!
