I like Nick Richards and Cody Martin from Charlotte at 13 mil, for a protected first. Also think Lakers should try hard to get Ayo Dosunmu. He is a big upgrade over Reaves at the point, two way player, very athletic, switchable defender, and at 24 he is an investment now and later.

To me its clear. # priority its getting a legit big that can play alongside/ backup AD. Jonas valuncunis played well against Jokic recently and to me would be a perfect option to till that role. 2nd we need more defenders. Getting another guard/ wing thats capable of playing defense and capable of shooting would be huge to.

Perimeter athletes is way more important than another big. Getting starting quality wings/guards is going to give you a much bigger return on investment than a backup big will. AD is going to be playing most of the minutes if not nearly all the minutes in the playoffs, and your best lineup is with AD at the 5 and bron at the 4. And then surrounding those two with guards who can actually stay in front of their man would skyrocket this teams defense and make their offense easier bc they’d get more transition points. Now getting a big center would be helpful and if you can get Jonas for cheap then do it, but getting guards/wings like Bruce brown, DFS, Davion Mitchell, etc. is much more important for this team

In my opinion best path for ad is at the 4 with a bruising center. when we had Dwight Howard during that 2020 championship it took the load off ad quite a bit because he didn’t have to do everything in the paint, offensively and defensively. Also I notice when he’s the only big out there he’s more winded which makes him settle for jump shots and he also has careless turnovers.

The front office is more concerned about protecting its future assets than winning now. DFS is a player who can help with the horrid defense, and they should be able to resign him if he doesn’t pick up his option. Sharpe can help AD a bit. Schroeder is both a defensive and offensive upgrade on Vincent. JHS and Lewis take up roster spots. DFS will cost less than Cam Johnson too. Rui has value, and his inclusion is the only downside. The package is an upgrade. But they need to want to do something to make any trade, and they have not demonstrated that recently.

It starts with our point of attack, we need a legit alethic guard that can play make, defend and score at all 3 levels. It opens up the floor for everyone to operate efficiently. Then we need a physical big that can rim protector, get rebounder to go along with AD. I believe this will unlock roaster coz guys can play their actual position and totally new style of play but effective coz no holes anymore. We have decent shooters but its hard to be consistent when you being ask to do too much out there on the court. I am going all in with the guard position and get a cheap center. Big 3 is the modern but it has to be a legit all star athletic guard with AD and Bron. Teams to care about our role players LOL we need another legit guy night in night out that teams gotta be worried about so our stars can play freely and unleach that beast mode they been taming coz cant play free with this roaster.

AD is a part time center at best. LeBron is a part time 4 at best. The fact that they became full time at those positions was due to the FO’s lack of ability to sign a reliable big or two. Now it might be too late.

Revisionist history. LeBron demanded a starting level point guard and then asked to be used at PF, so he doesn't have to spend so much energy defending on the perimeter and would be fresh for the playoffs. Fans and the media were absolutely thrilled with having AD where he is statistically better and how we won the Championship. You had 1/50 fans saying AD is better at the 4, has to learn the 5, will get injured more while learning and even fewer guys (maybe 1/200) said that it was our two way guys like Caruso, KCP and DG that made it possible to play AD at the 5 in the first place and that we should keep those guys. But LA fans and this shown said THT had a much higher ceiling than Caruso. Then they said KCP is sooo inconsistent and makes way too much money. And DG is done and wasn't even league average. And when it was all said and done, they had finally gotten "real shooters" and elite rotation players like Wes Matthews and ... sorry I have forgotten their names. And then we did experiment with Drummond and Jordan, but they couldn't stay on the floor clogged the entire offense and made us have defensive troubles as well. The answer to that was to get rid of every defensively sound player on the team for more real shooters. And then LeBron cried more and convinced everyone that Westbrook would bring the pace and defense and help rebound and that it would all come together that way. Then that failed, because they refused to play Bryant with AD and LeBron and find a SG/SF with elite defense and good shooting. Then Trevor wanted to stretch his contract over 3 years and waive Westbrook just to get him off the team to add by subtraction. That became D'Lo, Rui and Vando. Now we are chipping away at D'Lo and AD any chance we get. And the whole fan base for 2 years has looked to get rid of D'Lo for a real big that can stop Jokic (no such man exists). It's all turtles in here, all the way down. You don't need another big. They have 3.5 on the roster. Of those 1.5 help you win games and AD takes 40m. We don't need a PF either. We have 4 of them on the roster and LBJ takes 30m. We have zero 2-way wings however. In fact DK is the closest thing to a normal wing on this roster and he is a rookie. Reaves is a combo guard that lacks strength and explosiveness and physically can't guard starters at SG or SF. Vando is a PF, who can guard down and can't shoot the rock. Rui has no foot speed to guard down below PF. Cam is a positive surprise this year, but has become a third stringer anyway and just doesn't score. And so on and so forth. When this show is done we'll have Jared Dudley 4x, 6 bigs nobody wants, LBJ, AR and AD and Bronny. I am guessing we keep Max Lewis, because we always keep the worst of everything. And you will all be saying LeBron needs help. We need a real big. Trade AD then. This show is like the Boston Celtics how to destroy the Lakers podcast half the time. So now AD is a 4 and it is the front office that wanted LeBron to play the 4. 😂😂😂😂

1st Wall of Defense is trash, last season was the time to add a 6-year NBA veteran 2-Guard with a Defense 1st Mentality immediately after signing Jaxson Hayes. Rob Pelinka did the opposite, removed all veteran 2-Guards from the bench. 2nd year Max Christie was the only 2-Guard available off the bench.

Trevor has a short memory... Mitch traded Caron Butler for Kwame Brown. Russ was a shadow of his former self, but was still a better player than Kwame Brown. GMs make mistakes. But like Mitch, Pelinka also put together a championship roster. Not all GMs ever put together a championship roster in their career. Most don't. To me the biggest mistake Rob made (and he's made several) was re-signing THT instead of Caruso. but like the Butler->Kwame->Pau situation, it's possibly that Rob could eventually trade them back into contention. It's not likely because every team wants to see the Lakers fail, so they want to fleece the Lakers on any deal, but it's as possible as any other GM getting it done.

We Restructure around AD with a Mix of Young Players & Vets that can keep US Relevant til We get Our Next Super 🌟 Star!!!

I’ve been suggesting that nets trade since before the season 😂 but with DLo and Vando instead of Gabe and Rui. DLo and Vando are both completely one way players, they get played off the court in the postseason. Gabe and Rui don’t.

Robert Williams or one last season with Dwight Howard. AD is peak at the 4 which betters interior D and rebounding and we need a shooter still. And Robert Williams and Dwight are the cheapest bigs to run with AD and possibly still get another piece. Trade Jax, Vincent and get one solid wing or a guard.

No team would truly miss Rui in the long run Even if he could play his best consistently (he canmot) on a bad team it would mean nothing And even playing goodish inconsistently ( which he does) means next to nothing on a pretty good team Rui would only be a truly valuable asset as maybe the 7th or 8th guy on a great team

On a side note, I think if something becomes available after Dec 15, and we can get it if we part ways with either Dlo or AR, I'd say if it moves the needle then we should do it, I can't stand how it seems as though rob and Jeanie are zombies. No to a Valanciunas trade, that's a waste of trade assets or salary. The 2nd trade idea is great, but you can't trade Rui for DFS, cause' DFS would just be roster duplication for Vando. You need Rui for offense and DFS for defense so I would rather trade Vando even if I love his game he's not likely to play or be healthy this season. And if I'm getting Dennis, DLo should go. You can't have them both on the team. I would just try to get another perimeter defender like Bruce Brown or Marcus Smart or another scorer veteran guard like Rozier or CP3.

Defensive rating is low is it because they go 4 vs 5 when BRON is playing, 3 vs 5 when Dlo is in, 2 vs 5 with Rui, 1vs5 with AR and AD only one playing D?
