I've noticed that, and I really think that at least a big part of it is to avoid injury, believe it or not. Absorbing the impact of the landing by falling can actually be less dangerous than landing on your feet awkwardly, especially to the lower legs (feet/ankle/knees/achilles, etc.). As a long time lakers fan i feel people need to understand the difficult situation the team is in. Limited assets to trade on top of players with little to no value outside of LeBron and AD. Also the new rules have not helped when making trades. Then you have the Lakers tax. AR definitely needs to clean up his turnovers, BUT at least his turnovers occur mostly because he’s being AGGRESSIVE in trying to get into the paint and attack the rim, putting pressure on the defenders. I keep seeing other players - including AD - racking up turnovers by making lackadaisical handoffs (not even passes) that look more like 50/50 balls…like, to the point where you almost can’t discern WHO he’s even trying to pass it to. Turnovers are killing us, but it’s those LAZY plays that take the heart out of our team.

But our biggest need by far is point guard. I can't think of any games we would have won this year if we had a good backup center it just doesn't make that big of a difference against most matchups. But I can think of many games where if we had a good point guard to cleanly run the offense without 20 turnovers. who can lock down and play point of attack defense and help us with transition defense as well.. Trade DLo & Christie for RJ Barret. This creates a strong attack from the other forward position kind of like the days of having Kuzma alongside AD. RJ has more game than Kuzma. The JJ system requires a star point guard that draws double teams. The only point guard that would make JJ’s dynamic ball movement system work is Kyrie, an impossibility to acquire. Switching to a forward centered scoring team would draw double teams leaving Lakers guards open for 3’s. Without any great scoring guards, a forward dominant scoring threat would be the alternative. MJ’s Bulls didn’t have any great point guards but they won six championships.
