Cam Johnson would instantly make us a contender. If the Lakers really want to get into the mix should they should consider Rui & 2 1sts for Cam Johnson & Sharpe. Then go and bring in a Dennis Smith Jr or Fultz. Obviously if OKC wants Cam nothing we can do but until that happens, Rob should be pushing hard cuz the fit would be insane

Bruce Brown is my target. Even over Johnson. He can play 1-3, so he fits in perfect for what we need. Cam is a 3/4, we have enough of those. Max is playing well now but he’s young. Young guys tend to struggle in the playoffs. Brown can help cover for that. Reaves/Brown/ plus Christie or Gabe is a fine playoff rotation at guard. If both are playing well, Bruce can play some minutes at the 3.

@ yes but Cam is more of an offensive player. And doesn’t help us if Gabe’s hot streak fades and Christie isn’t playoff ready. Brown plays 1-3, Cam can’t guard quick guards.

Cam Johnson plays fantastic literally every game. He's fantastic. It's a shame if the Lakers pass on him solely due to price because there's no way they'd pass on him because he's not a good fit or not good enough because he's absolutely both.

I know you think the thunder have the best package. But would they give more then 2 first round picks for Cam? And player wise, I think Rui and Knect is better then the players OKC would send them. And the lakers first round picks will probably be better in 2029 and 2031 considering LeBron will be gone. That being said OKC might have a top 10 pick from Philly this year they could trade.

It would have to be centered around Jalen Williams and Dort. Does OKC wanna get rid of Williams? He’s currently the best productivity to salary player in the league outside of Kessler and Wemby. And does Brooklyn want Dort? Doubt it. They can trade 4 first round picks but will they overpay like that for Cam? After Gobert teams aren’t gonna waste 4 first rounders for a non superstar.

The trade for the Thunder would likely be something like Aaron Wiggins, Isaiah Joe and Carson Wallace plus 2-3 firsts. The issue with the Nets is they likely have no use for Rui because they rebuilding, so it would just be another thing they'd have to flip but would be expiring contract next season. Knecht makes sense for them but he's also going to be 24 in april, which is around the age of the guys the Thunder can send out but all their contacts decrease each year and they get a 21 year old Point Guard as a foundation. Not to mention the amount of picks they can send out. It really would come down to how much do the Nets like Knecht, compared to A 21 year old pg and a 26 year old 3&D wing in Wiggins.

@ that package does not sound better then Rui and Knect and 2 first to me. All 3 of those guys are bench players on a championship team. Rui has trade value. He’s only 26 and if he’s the number 1 option on a team at his right position he can get you 25 a game. We see that everytime LeBron is out and he balls out. Nets giving a 3rd first rounder is the only thing that gives them the edge in my opinion. And knowing Presti he’s only gonna give up their own picks. Not the ones they got from other teams so those are less valuable picks considering they will probably be in the 25-30 range.

I’m confused you want to trade one of their wings(rui) for another wing? What I’ve been saying this whole time is if you put the team together right and lesser the offensive load, Lebron can be that other wing. Let’s also not forget they have vando if he gets healthy. They have reddish, vando, DFS, bron, AD, max, gabe, and partially shake. They have enough guard and wing defenders. They need defense in the front court. If AD plays the 4 the 5s job becomes easier but they still need to be effective. They’re not gonna win getting another guard, or another wing. They would be better of course but they’d still have the same weaknesses.

I've made it clear, John Collins is the single best possible piece the Lakers could get all things considered - price, ability, fit, etc. The single best if we're just talking about who makes you immediately the best/most competitive, that might be Butler. Collins or Butler.

​@@vi8035 My #1 focus is helping AD. Nobody helps AD more than John Collins. He's a great rebounder. The Lakers are awful in rebounding for multiple reasons. 1.) no center 2.) AD all by himself due to no center 3.) Bron and Rui are his rebounding help, and Bron is too old to care to rebound hard every game, and Rui is just not good enough to rebound well. So John Collins and AD on the boards, plus Bron, makes them an elite rebounding team which immediately makes their offense way stronger due to all the extra chances they get from great rebounding. AD also needs help defensively. He gets none because he's all by himself defensively since he's their center. Bron isn't quite big enough to help well enough, and Rui, again, just isn't good enough. Collins is a big 6'9 athletic guy who can add blocks and help defensively. Collins is a lob threat due to size and athleticism. He's a good scorer. And a really good shooter. High % from both 3 and the line. He stays healthy too. He literally gives you everything.

John Collins makes more. I like Collins but Johnson is having an incredible season. He's definitely not over payed. Fox is likely not going to be available till the offseason and the Lakers just don't have the assets unless he forces his way to the Lakers like Davis did. Lastly, Idk why you think DFS is overrated? I'd love to hear your reasoning for that conclusion because he's been fantastic for the Lakers through 2 games .

Would the Nets take what the Lakers have to offer for Cam Johnson? Because I actually think Jerami Grant & RWIII would be perfect for what the Lakers need. 2 more players that can help AD defend the paint & can switch 3-5. DFS can switch 1-5, so 2 more players that can do the aforementioned is critical, plus Grant is a good 3pt shooter. Let's say you trade Rui, Gabe, Cam & Hayes plus a 1st rd pick for Grant & RWIII, with a healthy roster Lakers would have Bron K4 DFS AD Wood, Reaves Max Vando Grant RWIII as a 10 man rotation. That could win the chip easily imo if clicking together

I appreciate you. You made the point in the comment you left. It's about what's realistic. I don't think Johnson realistic either, Kuzma isn't better than Grant. I get the frustration in Grant, but he's still shooting 38% from 3 on 6 attempts and averaging 15ppg on 12.7 attempts. That's likely around what he would average attempts wise and he'd be our 3rd best player, if the Lakers let him be. I think his defense improves alongside Davis/Dorian and is likely the most realistic if the Blazers lower their asking price. Not to mention, maybe take a flyer on Robert Williams. Lastly, he is out but with a face contusion not some knee issue or something. I don't love the idea of Grant but I don't hate it either for the right price. My biggest issue with Grant is will he buy in to the team dynamic
