Lakers fans have the foundation of Magic championships and Kobe championships so that keeps us with perspective. Yes we always want to win but we know that you have to lose sometimes in order to build towards dynasties. Lebron fans don’t have perspective. So there is a completely different perspective between Lebron fans and Lakers fans.

@@jamesjones6315 I don’t deny there is a different perspective between the two, but do argue the current goals are essentially the same. And it’s not all about Lebron, AD is having a career, mvp caliber year, coming off another terrific year last year. They recently went to the WCF, and a championship a couple years before that. The vast majority analysis believes that this team is just a couple pieces away. The different perspectives may disagree on what those pieces are, but not by much, largely just splitting hairs or semantics. But those pieces will require some potential future sacrifice.

However, there is no way to realistically believe that they can acquire the pieces that it would take to win a championship this season. If they try and it fails, they will have sacrificed their future for nothing. I guarantee you that when Lebron is gone all of the people crying for them to mortgage the future will have amnesia then.
@jamesjones6315Ай бұрын
@ Lakers fans are not a monolith. You may find some who believe similar to you but I guarantee that there are others who don’t. I wasn’t in favor of going for Lebron. I thought they needed a younger target instead. They went with him and because they won early everyone says they made the right move. However there is no way we know what might have been possible had they found a different target instead. Had they gone a different direction perhaps Tatum would be a Laker right now. That’s just one example. Boston hasn’t won nearly as many championships as the Lakers since the 1980s. However their present and future looks way better right now.

There won't be a ton of pressure on them to make a move since there winning. the Lakers 2 first round picks are very valuable as there far out in future and gonna be post Lebron and perhaps even post AD which means those could be lottery picks. There will be teams that are willing to bite such as Utah, Brooklyn, Detroit to name a few that are gonna want valuable picks in future. You don't have to be a LeBron fan to know that the priority should be to maximize the winning opportunity while you have arguably the greatest player of all time on your team at the end of his career while still playing at a high level. Lakers weren't even trying to win when they payed Kobe and hurt their chances to improve the roster. Gotta go all in right now the Lakers will always recover because it LA. Only small market teams should have to worry about hoarding draft picks. Lakers have always became contenders through Free agency and trades anyway

I think any fan of their team wants them to be at the top of the league so I don't think it's weird for fans to want a trade. 6th seed with a positive record is cool and I think the team is overachieving but they can't make it to the finals with the current team. Draft picks statistically don't ever become All Stars or franchise players so I say use the picks to get a center. Once AD can move back to his natural position, so can Lebron and it creates a chain reaction of depth chart upgrades.
