Well done both of you. I too lost a lot of time on the Scafells due to the rough going. From Lingmell col I went direct to Lords rake, but the path is very faint and would be difficult in the dark. Coming down to Fox's tarn I had a massive fall which woke me up , haha. I think a Seathwaite start is best (for me) and leave the road walk to the end. The walk from Helvellyn over the Dodds to Threlkeld is just so nice. Keep exploring

Cheers Kevin, I'm going to attempt it again on 21st May all being well. Looking to do the Cumbria Way instead of the road this time. Couldn't imagine doing that bit again 😂
