Hey there! I just stumbled upon a new project called Morph e-bike, and it seems really interesting. It's a 2-in-1 eBike by freebeat that can be charged indoors, which is pretty impressive. I love the idea of being able to ride both indoors and outdoors with just one bike. The Morph eBike also has a powerful motor, suspension, and puncture-resistant tires, making it perfect for various terrains. Plus, the Smart Saddle Detection+ feature sounds amazing for fitness tracking and motivation. I can't wait to give it a try and experience the benefits firsthand!

What I've learned from riding trails with my e-MTB friend is that e-MTB is really a separate sub-category of mountain biking. It is an entirely different experience, more akin to dirt biking. You can accelerate uphill and make short work of even the steepest climbs by tapping the enormous torque of the electric motors. The motor just changes the whole experience of a trail. It's not better or worse, just different. I personally am sticking with MTBs because I like the exercise and the lightness and simplicity of regular bikes.
@maaz3222 жыл бұрын
I do exactly what you described. Ascended incredibly steep hills without dismounting, something a regular mtb would never even consider. You're definitely pouring a ton of energy, the motor is just an enabler to do something considered impossible for a regular mountain bike. You get the exercise if you push yourself to it. Hell, one downside, lugging the 50-60 pound bike around is plenty of exercise, helps your arms as well.
@_Jake.From.Statefarm_2 жыл бұрын
the thing is now they have the SL versions which are as light as a regular AL bike.. and you just... turn off the motor if you don't want to use it. It really is the future of biking.. it's like.. a derailer.. You don't have to switch gears, you can go up it in the hardest gear, but let's face it, you probably wont.. and you can get a good enough work out doing MORE laps an you'll get better at going downhill because you'll do it A LOT more.

I'm 66 y/o. As long as you have the right gearing, I see no need for an e-bike. Plus, how do the e-bike riders know if they are improving? Last year, I could do my favorite climb, while under my lactic threshold in 17:30. This year, I'm able to do it in 16:50. The e-bikers are missing out.
@pilotavery Жыл бұрын
Exactly and it doesn't f****** matter if you had to exercise a little bit or a lot, the fact is you are enjoying yourself and getting exercise at the same time, and without an e-bike you wouldn't be able to do that experience at all. That's what it's about. If it was purely about exercising then biking is cheating in general because stationary bikes make you work harder, my point is it's not all about the exercise it's about the experience and while sure I wouldn't say you should bring a throttled e-bike and ride it around like a dirt bike, but if you are unable to pedal very hard, just using the pedal lightly for control and having the motor do most of the work and pedaling what you can when you can do it, it brings the capability of any trail nearby within your reach.

When the terrain controls me I don't get to as many new places, try as many new challenges nor have nearly as much fun, and at the end of the day that's what keeps us all riding. PS: Just curious, are "real" mtb riders with $12k+ carbon fiber bikes that weight 15lbs less than my $2k non-ebike really "real" mtb-ers too??? Honestly, my E-MTB is the best thing that has happened to me in years! I gained a bunch of weight in the past few years and my Bike enables me to be active for so much longer! Where a normal bike would trigger my asthma or bring me to exhaustion after not even 10km, I’ll easily go 20-30km. It allows me to get out more, be in nature and most importantly: lose weight! Besides, getting out of the house at this time really helps me keep sane! What’s the point of exerting myself once or twice without assistance and then growing bored, if a little motorized assistance can keep me motivated to get out and move whenever the sun is shining? Can’t remember a day with good weather when I haven’t been out in the woods! If anything though, having switched to an e-bike I now respect people with manual bikes so much more for their physical fitness and perseverance!
@the_letti05842 жыл бұрын
Im assuming that you have lost enough weight to be in a somewhat healthy shape. @@the_letti0584 That's not how it works. It's a fallacy that many fit people fall into. Ramping up your fitness is a hard process. Crazy as it sounds I find the weight of the emtb to gives it a better ride in the gnar, not getting bounced around, stays more planted. I converted a Trek Farley and it’s a do it all bike. Commuting, cruising, trails, beach, snow. Anywhere. May. It be faster but takes me further. It’s game changing. Great video!

As someone who just bought an Ebike (Orbea Rise) they are incredible. Superlight Ebikes are the way to go. At 46 years old I actually get a better workout on the Ebike because I can ride so much further and longer. I don't know about other Ebikes, but the Orbea Rise only starts working hard when you do, so it feels natural. Or rather, it feels like I'm 18 years old and 40 lbs lighter.

Glad you’re having fun
@innocentiuslacrim22902 жыл бұрын
I started riding more when past 40. Doing 2-4 hour rides or 1 hour max effort rides these days. I looked into those ebikes like what Orbea does, but most of the time my speed is limited, by what is safe speed to ride so I decided against it. It is hard work getting into good shape, but once things start to click it feels great. On the roads it is perversely fun passing ebikers though as their speeds are limited to 25km/h in EU.
@AverageKurtCooks2 жыл бұрын
@@innocentiuslacrim2290 speed isn’t limited when you’re going down hill.
@jimtyler11812 жыл бұрын
@@innocentiuslacrim2290 these Ebikes are not limited to speed, that’s just when the assist stops helping to keep it in its class of Ebike and legal in certain trails. The point of a bike like this is to punch up large elevations to enjoy the downhill trails. At least that’s what it’s done for me.

Funny thing about the Levo SL shown in the video: it's incredibly light, so even if the battery died, he will be not much slower than the rest. And speaking from experience, with an SL you still do your fair share of work uphill

I can feel you. Totally. I’m riding regular up for 2k elevation gain locally. When I am sweeting my ass off, I just hear high pitch zzzz sound closing by fast from my back. My first reaction is, seriously? Why bother to even ride this hill up when you are on ebike? Anyway, it’s people option to choose whatever bike suit them most. If they don’t or can’t physically competent to ride that hill, it’s fine for them to ride ebike. They also like to enjoy the magnificent view like all of us do. I’ll continue the old and hard way to bike till my body no longer support it. Then, I’ll get an ebike to enjoy the nature. Peace ✌️
