Back in the day, this SUV - the Rambo Lambo - was one of the craziest vehicles on and off the road… and it still pretty much is. Damiano Barbuscia of Franco's European takes Jay for a ride.

one of many things i appreciate about Jay Lenos garage is that they really try to capture the true noise of each car jay drives, its never just exhaust note. it always sounds as if you hear every part of the engine's operation.

I did run my Blazer (back in the day) on german Autobahn and it did about 100mph . I felt like champ, when a LM002 passed me (about 130mph?). It felt like i was standing and the air shook my car and some sand landed on my windscreen. i think he had sand for the kids in back of the Lambo. I will never forget ...

This car gets better everytime i look at it. And thanks to Jay Leno I finally get good moving images of it. A very cool fact about this car is that the body and parts of the interior where manufactured by Irizar in Spain, lamborghni sent them the drawings and they had to design the machinery and manufacturing for it. My father was an auto journalist and got invited to see the factory. There where alo stories and pictures of a man in a very very small village in Granada, Spain who had a large farming company and owned a purple Countach and a purple LM002. Think about the image for a second, a modest village with tractors and seat 600 and then these two spaceships.

I saw one of these slogging through Greenwich Village once back in 90-91. The dude must have been struggling with the clutch in first gear, because the sound this fucking thing made was just unfathomable. I read recently that it has basically the same V-12 as the Miura or Countach, so now it makes more sense to me.. imagine an African lion slowly being lowered into a vat of hot frying oil. That's what it sounded like. I was reading about it somewhere not long ago, and the author described it as "the most unholy vehicle ever made". From what I witnessed that night, I wholeheartedly agree.

You don't need studs in Norway lol. I live in Northern Minnesota which has a slightly harsher winter than even Norway, and nobody uses studs. That being said, it would be cool.

77 gallon tank... well i guess when you want to go far and have a countach engine you have to get a big tank. For the europeans. 77 gallons is 291 liters and 12mpg is 19.5l/100km

25 years ago I saw a black LM002 with German reg plates in Armação de Pera (Portugal) with grey leather seating and 4x additional grey leather seats on the back (as mentioned on the video). That was the ultimate Batman beach toy!

in 1990 I had just bought my first Jeep Cherokee Larado in bright red. On the local freeway, I saw out of the corner of my eye a red vehicle, but I heard it more than saw it. Taking a look, it was an LM002! The guy waved, and then he left me in the dust. Damn that vehicle could fly!

Jay was wrong about the Countach being the last carbureted car in America. That would be the 1994 Isuzu Pickup. There were only a few after 1989. B body GM cars, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, the Crown Vic police interceptor, Subaru Justy, Honda Prelude, and the Mazda B2200 pickup

As i know it's not a "sand lip " on the tires sidewalls ,but a water lip avoiding water projection. It's very common on freight trucks tires. I think the tires are wide enough to spread the weight correctly without this lip.
