@cardude1992 Starting next year, FIA GT is going to be an all GT3 championship, GT1 cars are still going to be allowed but that's basically only for the teams that still have their GT1 cars, they're also going to be detuned and brought down to GT3 speed. It was pretty obvious the category was going to die when they canned it from Le Mans last year in favor of GT2.

@TheValKBawz i dont think gt1 is too expensive and complicated for the manufacturers and race teams if they have the sponsors.. after all they've been doing it since the 90's. and its been great, anything but overkill. its real sportscar racing. its suppose to be the highest category of the fia gt series so there's no way gt3 is better. all gt1 needs is more interest from the racing world and the manufacturers.

@cardude1992 Don't feel so bad about it, it has happened before and will probably happen again, the current GT1 used to be GT2 in the late 90's, the original GT1 was batshit crazy and A LOT faster than today's GT1, it was filled with factory teams and cars that absolutely dominated Le Mans and put the LMPs to shame. It too was killed when costs spiralled out of control, GT2 then took the GT1 name and became the category you know today, now history is more or less repeating itself.

@wilmat100 i was there that weekend, and indeed its a fantastic sound, but it is actiually louder than formula 1 cars, this literually hurts your ears, you get really pain in your ears like a bee has flown in and stabbed you in your ear, so if you cover your ears youre still able to hear it only it hurts less
