Lambs Are Taking Over The Farm!

In today's exciting episode of our daily sheep farming vlog at Ewetopia Farms, we witness the lambs taking over the lambing barn as it rapidly fills up. Join us as we embark on a thrilling day of managing lambs as we work on emptying lambing jugs to accommodate the lambs that just keep on coming!
We begin by providing updates on the events of the previous night and share the progress of all the lambs. Throughout the day, we engage in various tasks such as tagging, vaccinating, docking, and recording the lambs as they demonstrate their readiness to leave the lambing jugs and join the group pen. As lambs are moved in and out of the jugs, we ensure each pen is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected with lime before welcoming the next ewe and her lambs. Along the way, we encounter and resolve a few challenges related to lambing, including unplugging a ewe's teat to facilitate milk flow for her lamb's nourishment and addressing a bleeding umbilical cord on a newborn Dorset lamb. We remain hopeful for the lamb's full recovery and will keep you updated on its progress in future videos.
To conclude the day, we take a moment to relax in the group pen, reflecting on our busy day of sheep farming and cherishing the rewards of our hard work. Just love watching the lambs and moms-and hearing them constantly talk to each other as you guys do the checks. Arnie, I so enjoy your night checks when most have bedded down or are feeding. You can actually hear the hay being chewed! Lynn, the little girl at 25:01 is stunning! Those long legs and ears with the tips already, wow! And Glad’s spotted son seems to have blossomed in the bonding pen, hopping and jumping. Thanks for the excellent vids! 🐑💛🐑

Good afternoon Arnie and Lynn. Love your intro. Always feels like visiting friends. Wow those mommies are all looking like they are ready to pop. I had to say the sign that said Be naughty save Santa the trip struck as very funny. 😂😂😂. Such sweet babies arriving. Our guardian mama is sure taking her time. The rowdy crew is looking wonderful. And a good star mama. Yay. That little gladiator ram looks like he is colored green for St Patrick’s day. It sure didn’t take long for the group pen to fill up. Wow some really good looking lambie this year. Aww tgat gladiator ram decided that jumping up on the bale was hard work. Time for some more milk to build his muscles😂😂. Thanks for such a sweet video. Probably she is a first timer and just scared, doesn't understand what is happening and her hormones are going berserk. Usually only happens to first-time mothers. Humans get it too

You have a fair amount of humdinger lambs this year, some real beauties! Gladiator in particular seems to thrown really nice lambs, especially that large ram lamb at about the 25:17 mark. I've noticed that a goodly amount of the lambs seem to be rams so far this year. Do you tend to prefer one sex to the other in general? Make sure you both take care of yourselves. Try to get some sleep and have a good, hot takeout meal (or two).

Yes, lots of really nice lambs this year. Our customers should be happy! So far, we actually have more ewes than rams like we did last year too. We don't prefer one over the other however, usually, more ewes end up as breeding stock than rams which we do prefer!🙂
