@@lorasimpson5396 It's been a week and 3 days since I started treatment with Lamotrigine, the doctor gave me 25mg in the morning and at night. I started to feel a stomach ache, nausea, diarrhea and a little headache, has this happened to anyone at the beginning? Tomorrow I'm going to a dose of 75mg, increase it little by little, every ten days, until I reach 150mg. I always feel side effects with medication, and it's always these, it's impressive, I was doing well and today it started to intensify everything.

hello, I am on day 6 of taking Lamictal or Lamotrogine at 25mg. I have noticed my appetite has gone down significantly. I do feel a lot more calm overall. I just feel like Im walking around in a warm fuzzy blanket of calmness. I am nervous to jump to 50mg which will be on Thursday. But I am going to see if my doctor allows me to stay at 25mg because she knows that I can let the anxiety I get control me at times. But Im really hoping this medication is the one. Im bipolar 1 with psychotic features. I was diagnosed with bipolar 2 in 2015 but i never took medication. Got rediagnosed in 2023 and it was bipolar 1. I was misdiagnosed with depression at the age of 14 and SSRI's were hell on earth for me. Constant hospitalizations. Which is why I stopped seeking out treatment in 2015. Anyways. Im very excited to see how this medication works.

Been on it for some months now and it’s definitely a game changer. Feels like I have my mind back. Which had seemingly been lost for decades. I’d recommend to anyone dealing with extreme lows. The repetitive thoughts were gone within the first week and life just seems to get better by the day. My relationships with my loved ones have improved greatly and I can now see the patterns that have been hindering me for a long time. It’s great to have myself back.

I had been abusing drugs and alcohol for the past 15 years, to cope with undiagnosed Bipolar type 2 and severe PTSD. I have been on lamictal for 2 years. I haven't felt so calm, cool, and collected ever in my life. I have days where I feel so grateful, but also days where I feel like I was robbed of the best years of my life because of my own brain and thoughts. However, I know that is negativity I don't need and can make up for the time lost by appreciating the fact I get to live my life at all, and how some never get the chance to feel life as it should be experienced. God bless you all.

I was prescribed this about two years ago for Bipolar Disorder. Honestly, it’s the only medication I’ve tried that I noticed a change in my behavior. It’s helped my panic attacks, anger outburst, and keeps my mood in check (for the most part). I take 200 MG so it is pretty strong. The only thing I don’t like is it affects my memory. I have really bad short term memory loss, I’ll forget conversations in the middle of having them. Also, it makes me slurr my words and I have speaking issues as if my mouth is speaking faster than my brain can think. When I was first put on to this medication, I got a huge rash on my face, elbows, and ears. But I continued to take them and it went away. Idk if that happens to other people but I like hearing others stories. Thank you for the info!!

I just want to say i am on this now starting 2 months. I had stopped during the 1 month for like 1 week and it was not bad withdrawals at-least for me. But I also was taking my Clonazepam since I been on it for 11 years. I don’t know if that Benzo medication Improved less withdrawal symptoms idk. But anyways I started back on it 1 day ago. The reason i stopped I just felt like different meaning not like myself like things I wouldn’t be nervous of made me nervous. I would have thoughts in my head that i want to say but wouldn’t, but if I was not on this medication I would say it freely without thinking 2x. The medication has definitely helped with my mood stuff I usually get irritated by or upset I wasn’t. I found myself really calm and content. But then again I needed the old me back a little like the one who talks up and express herself. On this medication it’s hard to cry sex status is definitely down for me. And since I been on 25mg and never told my doctor to up it sometimes i feel a little irritated not too much. I did once tried 2 pills and that made my heart race uncomfortably. That’s one thing I don’t like is when a medication messes with the heart rhythm. Once I notice that with any medication I stop immediately. Lexapro gave me that feeling. Other than that it’s ok it doesn’t bother my heart. Controls my impulsiveness. I can handle situations a lot more easier than getting overwhelmed. But it’s not the best honestly but it’s not the worst if that makes sense. I don’t plan off coming off Clonazepam unless there is a natural herb similar to the effects of it. I do believe there are cures out there in the world but it is just hidden by the secret society. 🤫 I also take olly stress gummies for like over 3 months natures blend stress relief gummies and my herbalist hormone balancer vegan capsules then the medication which is Clonazepam and now the lamictal. BTW i do be forgetting a lot on the lamictal.

Is this a medication that is used to stabilize the patient while he/she works to heal their illness by other means? My issue with meds is that dosages only go up and have never heard of a plan to taper. Any comments on nutritional ketosis you can share? This seems like a new field that has many anecdotal success stories as well as a pilot study out of Stanford that shows lots of positives for schizophrenia and bipolar.

Hi. I want to ask. I am on 100gr of lamictal because I have ADHD and unstable moods ups and downs. Really help me a lot to feel more calm and easy-going. Yesterday I changed the way I take the 100mg. I used to take it 50mg morning and 50mg evening. I noticed I was a bit slow and sleepy but taking also concerta was not any big issue. My doctor changed so from yesterday I take 100mg lamictal at 21 o clock every night but I noticed again my previous self coming up again get irritated more easy and have no tolerance with kids was angry with them etc. Is is because I had many hours in between the last dose on Friday and the next dose after a whole day? I am trying to understand why I felt so upset and irritated and not tolerant to everything. Was calmer previous days.

@@dralywood How Millions of People Were/Are Duped into Being Lifetime Customers- how was I misdiagnosed and what is my actual mental health diagnosis? Let me enlighten you to the process which I'm sure you're aware of. My real diagnosis is Complex PTSD, CPTSD. And all the symptoms that go along with that. Seeing as they are refusing to put CPTSD in the diagnostic manual even still, if you see a psychiatrist you will surely be misdiagnosed with disorders you don't have. Hence, millions of people are misdiagnosed ad bipolar 2. Why? This gives the psychiatrist full reign to bombard the patient with every drug classification out there to "FIX" the patient. Only to realize piles of psych drugs have never fixed anyone with CPTSD, it just impairs them and makes them sick. This is what your profession is doing to millions. This is how you've duped millions of people to be lifetime customers of big pharma. Then - you have the balls to brainwash people into thinking they have a "biochemical imbalance", and tell people "if you go off these medications you will die". Can you think of anything more covert or predatory? This is how Millions of us were conned into being heavy customers for years or decades.

I’m not bipolar but I have persistent depression which is hard to treat. Nothing worked for me long term until I added lamictal. Now for years I’ve been on 200 mgs lamictal and when I added Zoloft it helped Zoloft continue to work for me. Adding modafinil has helped even more. NOW I’m off Zoloft because I want to get rid of the low libido and I’m trying Wellbutrin with lamictal and modafinil. Whew! So far so good- not quite as effective as Zoloft but I’ll take it. Would like to try to get off of lamictal but it has the worst side effects of any medication when I forget to take it - which is practically never now- the dizziness and nausea etc. are very bad. I cannot even tell if it is doing anything at this point. I do need long-term medication and I know that now. Have there been any studies that show that adding Lamictal to other anti depressants make them more effective? I want to see if my WORD RECALL gets better without lamictal. I have heard that it is a known side effect and I have certainly and still do experience it. I would like to know if it is age - related or if this is just the medication. Thank you.

Hi there, I just started on lamotragine and gabapentin. I am taking them for bipolar depression & anxiety I have been on them for about 5 days now I was just discharged and this video is very insightful. One thing I'm curious about is how those two drugs would interact with cannabis. I've read several things about how it depends on the person how beneficial it is but I can find much information from a medical standpoint. Since it's not an antidepressant would it affect it in anyway? other than the impairment that may come with it wouldit reduce the effectiveness of them?

You shouldn't be taking gabapentin with benzodiazepines like Ativan, clonazepam, or sleeping pills or opioids. It depresses to the breathing and can be dangerous.

Hello I am utterly panicked by the risk of symptoms that come with long term usage. I am at 100mg once per day after taking lamotrigine for 2/3 months. should I be fine cutting it in half over a two week period?

Hey I’m using Fulsac (same ingredient with Prozac just different name) I’m 3rd week to my using and I’ve a pretty bad nausea going on for last few days. I didn’t have side effects first 2 weeks, but I don’t know if it was about the medicine. Because first 2 weeks of my usage I didn’t have any exams, so that time wasn’t stressful. But it feels like, as the exam gets closer, my stress nausea comes back :( What do you think is gonna happen doctor? Do you think these side effects will disappear, or Fluoxetin has these affect all the time?

Really a damaging drug. Broke my sleep architecture, chronic fatigue, emotonal blunting, severe cognitive decline, light sensitivity, kidney stones, the list is endless. Hell of a drig to get off from. Still dealimg with protracted withdrawal but getting there. The most scary longterm symptom is dementia - this is not discussed with patients.

as with most bi polar and anti convulsive drugs. This one is one of the least harmful however

You are wrong. Yes we are told it is the least harnful, but we are lied to. Dementia, cognitive decline, memory loss, unable to find words, that is not minor. Chronic insomnia requiring add-on addictive meds to deal with the side effects, is not minor. Being permanently exhuasted, wired yet tired, that is not minor. The list of adverse effects is so long, yet we are told it the least harmful. It is not. Getting off is incredibly difficult. Took me over 15 months and still dealing with protracted withdrawal. We are being lied to about this drug.

@@Ann-l7x doesn't affect everyone the same way. Depakote for example shrinks the brains grey and white matter. keppra is similar as well. Low doses of lamotrigen isn't that bad honestly. You can always switch meds after 2 years or so, the damage is not permanent and its widely used so its been tested more whereas other drugs haven't been tested as thoroughly and can have unforseen side effects. Maybe you could try to read and be cognitively active to mitigate these side effects. I just switched to Lamitor and its wonderful compared to what I was taking, minimal side effects, barely any fatigue. Honestly if you can you should avoid medication altogether, even if you suffer from extreme anxiety or depression, try to surround yourself with friends and people that care for you, try exercising or even getting high, but meds should be a last resourt. For me I have to pick my poison cause I have seizures, and a single one can permanantly damage my brain or kill me.

@@Ann-l7xI have no idea how people find this hard to get off of. I literally hopped off this stuff in a couple months. I started every other day, then went to 2x every 5 days and so on. I think this drug is a Godsend from my experience with it. I’m not gonna say broadly this drug is the best drug, or a harmful drug etc, because that wasn’t my experience. I think if it doesn’t work for you but it works for millions of other people doesn’t mean it’s a bad drug, and your dr lied to. It just means it didn’t work for you since you experienced serious sides. I’ve personally have watched this drug work wonders on 5/5 people I know, and 4 of them it’s longer than 5 yrs. In my experience I can’t believe how happy it made me, and looking back I should have stayed on it.
