I will never ever be a great gardener. I can’t say or spell most of the Latin names for plants much less remember them. But you are a 100% correct “same”name, totally different plants💚🙃

Yes! I have a love/hate relationship with Facebook gardening groups. I agree with every one of your points about the way people leave comments.

We bought a house a few years ago that had lamium here. This stuff does migrate but it seems easy enough to control. I have the white and pink. Don't really know the variety but I'm guessing that it is the better kind. Thanks for the help!

Perfect timing, I'm looking for something that will grow around my perrenials in a bed that no matter how much I weed, is full of weeds. I'm so sick of weeding and was trying to figure out what I could plant that will spread without smothering my existing plants. Thank you.

Biggest issue? Most people don't read all the comments.

I have Latium maculata, the first one you showed. You are incorrect, it too is a thug and it spreads quickly, over and around the other plants that don’t seem to be controlling its spread. It put on a beautiful spring show, but yesterday I ripped it all out down to the ground, leaving roots. My hope is it will put on another flush of flowers. If it does, then I’ll keep it, just remembering to cut it back each year. It is doesn’t then it’s good bye.

My neighbour grew Lamium Galeobdolon in her garden that borders mine and it grew into my side through the cedars that grow between our two properties. They have gone everywhere and I can't get rid of them as they are under the huge, very old and established cedars! Any ideas as to how I may control them?

You can hand pick them - just do it every few weeks all summer long. Or Roundup.
