A former member of the Seven, the Lamplighter was turned over by the Seven to the Boys, after the murders of Mallory's granddaughters, in order to end their initial conflict. He is reanimated after his death and is hidden from view deep under the Seven's headquarters; he constantly soils himself, and the Seven take turns cleaning out his cell. His public story states that he took a hiatus from the team, with him being broadcast on national television after his reanimation with the rest of his team. He was then kept in the storage space he now "lives" in, the Homelander having him there as an "example" to the rest of the team for what happens to those who underestimate "The Boys." He is replaced by Starlight.
Lamplighter's powers seem to mostly emanate from his torch-like device, which he can use to fly and emanate blinding light or destructive energy. He has greatly enhanced physical endurance, having survived being struck by the wing of a plane in mid-flight, although the collision's force did cave in his ribs and nearly puncture his lungs; after the incident, he required multiple medications to relieve the pain.
In Issue #66, it is revealed in a conversation by Stillwell that the Lamplighter was found by the CIA after a search warrant was exercised on the Seven's former headquarters.

The comics start out well, but go a bit off the rails. I'd recommend reading the first two or three volumes, then see how you go from there. I also think the tv show will stay a bit closer to its source material than people think (e.g. they'll probably reveal zombie Lamplighter in the next season). I'd say the TV show is about 1.75 times better than the comics so far

The Seven are based on the original Justice League which was Superman, Batman, Wonderwoman, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, Aquaman and the Flash. Jack from Jupiter(swapped out for Transculent because the show wanted to make it more realistic) who isn't in the show is the Martian Manhunter and the rest are quite easy to match.

There's not that much to her story in the comics. She was exposed to discarded Compound V waste as a baby, murders, gets caught and imprisoned by I believe Vought, murders and escapes and is recaptured multiple times until she's freed by the Boys.

Austin Jahnigen it wasn't just that. His blackness was woven in. He could escape gang violence, and police harassment, by being a member of the seven. He literally had to outrun bullets as a kid, in the show. The only way to avoid all of that is to maintain his spot, and he's desperate to do that

I compare the superheroes in The Boys universe to max-level players in an open world-RPG video game. They treat the world as a limitless sandbox for their own amusement while sadistically slaughtering and torturing anyone who opposes them muck like aforementioned players who slaughter NPCs that go through pre-programmed reactions to their deaths. They treat life like a video game, not fully prepared for the Game Over screen until it comes toppling down upon them when they least expect it.

I think in the series they shouldn't have Vought use compound V to revive the heroes as it wouldn't be really interesting when people can just be brought back to life and in the series The Seven doesn't seem to have known the Boys before Translucent's death so I generally think Lamblighter just left the Seven maybe he was fired by Madeline so they could have another female in cause maybe fans wanted female empowerment so they fired lamplighter as I don't think he was that popular and I think I heard Annie talk about other females auditioning not other people so I definitely think he was fired why Vought told the public he retired instead of the truth I don't know if you have any ideas why they did this please let me know
