Lana's songs are the most genuine I have ever heard, you can feel that each song comes from her heart. She's like a quiet genius in a class where pretentious and arrogant classmates are usually praised. We love you Lana and thank you so much for bringing your music into this world.

Idk how people think this isn't Lana. This is the most Lana del Rey song ever. Allusions to God, references to bands from the 70s and Woodstock from the 60s, and if you know anything about Lana's personality, rather than her BTD Lolita persona, you would know that this is the real her. Just because she isn't talking about older men or death doesn't mean she is becoming someone else, she's just being more true to herself. This song is for us, her fans. Be thankful. I know I am.

Lana wrote Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind to express her concern for being at Coachella while tensions with North Korea and the USA are rising. She sings about how she'd trade her life of fame to have peace in the world, and she worries about why she should even be worrying about the state of the world - because things like this shouldn't be happening. She views Coachella as her Woodstock because it is an escape from the shit happening, although she wishes she didn't need an escape. And she sings about her worry for what is going to become of the children today and perhaps her hope is enough to ripple something positive in the world - also this song is not on lust for life

Albertine Sarny because this song she wrote was particularly rushed and did it for her own fun I guess, she only made this song just a few weeks ago and produced it really quickly...maybe the beat would be better if she hadn't rushed it, but I still enjoy it( of course she made this especially for us)
@Lifeiswazz7 жыл бұрын
Remember people this is not apart of her album, she created this song literally almost exactly a month today, she produced it very quickly, maybe if she was working on it longer different beats would be used, since people r mad about that? but i find it just fine, please respect Lana for what shes doing for us ;)

Literally, everything that this woman creates never fails to amaze me. She's such a poetic artist and that often goes unappreciated. First of all, to those who truly understand Lana del Rey, they will understand that Lana is an artist, a constant machine of creativity and evolution. She's not hooked up on a previous recipe of success and duplicate it over and over again. She's interested first and foremost in the lyrical content, the message she is conveying, the uniqueness of the topic. I am grateful for the BTD record because it was the engine that helped her take off in music and gather her own people who believe in what message she has to offer through her music. It helped her shape her image more clearly than any of her previous attempts before. At the same time, you have to understand that Lana's genre in music - because it is often labeled as eccentric and bizarre - will often hit you with a negative surprise at first (especially lately) because - naturally - it is completely a new recipe, a new way of singing. But, if you listen to this song carefully, and you just follow the lyrics and be one with it, you'll notice how dreamy, euphoric and ensnaring the bridge "I'll give it all for a stairway to heaven" is. I honestly believe it is a mature song, a symbol of her coming of age, of using her fame now at this stage, to really make an impact in people. My advice is to listen to her new materials without cross referencing it with her previous materials. Cheers.
@Kate-n23107 жыл бұрын
I agree so much! People will never be happy. When she changes her music a bit, people complain that it's "not her" but if she doesn't change she's not innovative, she's repetitive and like pop artists.

@ZacharyKhitmi7 жыл бұрын
Kayleigh Lana wrote the song during the Coachella days and when she was having fun she was also worried about the world and the conflicts between North Korea and America and she said this on her instagram: "'m not gonna lie- I had complex feelings about spending the weekend dancing whilst watching tensions w North Korea mount. I find It's a tightrope between being vigilantly observant of everything going on in the world and also having enough space and time to appreciate God's good earth the way it was intended to be appreciated. On my way home I found myself compelled to visit an old favorite place of mine at the rim of the world highway where I took a moment to sit down by the sequoia grove and write a little song. I just wanted to share this in hopes that one individual's hope and prayer for peace might contribute to the possibility of it in the long run. "

Not everyone is open-minded with music and has the ability to understand the artist and what they are going through, but Lana isn't just a girl who writes and sings melancholic and dark songs, she's much more than that, she has a perspective on this world like everyone else, she likes to switch up her vibes and do different patterns of music, she's not entitled to one genre, she likes to sing about what's on her mind, she likes to evolve and move on and not stick with singing about the same thing, and it saddens me how people are seeing this on a different ignorant level rather than listening to her message and what's she singing about, Lana is a true artist and will forever stay a true artist, whether you like it or not.

Coachella lyrics I was at Coachella Leaning on your shoulder Watching your husband swing in time I guess I was in it 'Cause baby, for a minute It was Woodstock in my mind In the next morning They put out the warning Tensions were rising over country lines I turned off the music Tried to sit and use it All of the love that I saw that night 'Cause what about all these children And what about all their parents And what about all their crowns they wear In hair so long like mine And what about all their wishes Wrapped up like garland roses 'Round their little heads I said a prayer for a third time I'd trade it all for a stairway to heaven (a stairway, stairway) I'd take my time 'fore I climb up to the top of it (stairway) I'd trade the fame and the fortune and the legend (stairway) I'd give it all away if you give me just one day to ask him one question I'd give it all away if you give me just one day to ask him one question I was at Coachella Leaning on your shoulder Watching your husband swing and shine I'd say he was hella, cool to win them over Critics can be so mean sometimes He was on his knees and I thought he was breaking 'em down with his words and his voice divine Doesn't take a genius to know what you've got going and to Not want music 'cause they lost their minds What about all these children And all their children's children And why am I even wondering that today Maybe my contribution Could be as small as hoping That words could turn to birds and birds would send my thoughts your way I'd trade it all for a stairway to heaven (a stairway, stairway) I'd take my time 'fore I climb up to the top of it (a stairway) I'd trade the fame and the fortune and the legend (a stairway) I'd give it all away if you give me just one day to ask him one question I'd give it all away if you give me just one day to ask him one question A stairway, stairway to heaven A stairway Got a million things I wanna say Like what is it all for? Will it be okay? Million things I wanna say Like what is it all for? (a stairway) Stairway, stairway to heaven Stairway Stairway, stairway to heaven Stairway

Ch P I didn't say they hate her. And listen, I've been a fan of Lana since 2012. It's like she spoke through her music with us about her life, what she went through. And it makes me sad to see people being so judgmental. :) peace

I'm just someone who likes buying her music and as such I have a certain taste. So if my dealer changes the smack, it might very well be that I'm disappointed. If that says I don't love her, okay, I don't have to love her. I don't even know her personally. I just want to listen to music I like. Lana can of course do what she wants (and she will - it's not like she'll burst into tears because I don't like her new songs), but just as well I can not like the new stuff.

I cannot believe how many of you loathe this song and this new era. It is visible she has maintained the same essence, however she decided to incorporate some realism within it, leaving all of her persona's elements behind (lolita, old men and whatnot). She has evolved! Listen to the lyrics carefully! It is all about us, we should be grateful instead of vilifying her. Just calm down, please.

Matty Queen Bee totally agree🙌🏼, people think that her changing her songs to more uplifting joyful sounds "isn't her" and "isn't effective" when happy songs can be just as, if not, more effective than sad songs! It's so annoying people need to realise and be thankful that Lana is happy and therefore wants to make new happy music.

She expresses her concern for being at Coachella and escaping reality while there are so many tensions worldwide. She says she would trade her fame in order to have peace in today's world and expresses her worry for what is going to become of today's children. I think she wants her stairway to heaven in order to ask "him" just this one question...him being god and Lana believing that perhaps her hope is enough to change something.

After what happened in Manchester tonight this song hit me even harder. :( Terrorism attacks, political hate, poverty...we are going through a difficult time and Lana perfectly gets that.
