Anyone still having problems with Ollie, I've a really important thing to point out from my experience. Ride a lot, once you're light on you're feet you'll feel the motion of the board, your body and your board will be one with each other. Tame that shit. I'm 6 months into skb and still it takes a few hours before I ollie over curbs. And everyday I start from scratch. Stress really hard on bending your knees and staying in the air as long as you can. Don't try to master it soon. I'm 22 and I can do only few tricks and Ollie is still the hardest for me. Wish all you beginners all the best. Commit to it and don't give up. That's what life's about right :) #skategod Thanks lance, thanks Aron

True statement!! I'm sure everyone knows those pro skater tutorials of like one minute where they 'explain' how to do a nollie bs inward heel in the whole 'just pop and turn and flick and land' kind of ridiculous way. There's so much more use in seeing someone fail and hear how he can fix the issue and _then_ lands the trick. Every tutorial should have like a compulsory list of '20 most common problems' you could run into. Not the stuff we can pretty much see in a video of someone doing the trick, without understanding _how_ to do the trick.

Its just really really important to learn all the tricks in order and really get them all down as you go. I really made Lance get the previous steps in and made him go back to them any time he was not doing well.

Generally, I really appreciate all the work and commitment Aaron & Co put in these videos. But this one would have been way more interesting and (psychologically and technically) supportive if Lance didn't already KNOW how to ollie. For usually, one of the great things about this whole format is that it consistently, patiently and (mostly) without strong evaluations (such as "easy", "it's just…", "not that hard") takes up the position and the perspective of someone who is actually a beginner in the respective domain. I'd be happy to see another video taking the difficulty in mastering the ollie more seriously. Thanks!

This is amazing !!! I never seen someone go for it like Lance, he is missing the fear factor (aarons voice) "Whaaat?" The fact that he ollied 3 blocks that fast... I think that Lance is gonna learn how to kickflip in few weeks if hes progressing like this.

Yesterday's video about riding basics helped me a lot! I've been stuck on learning how to Ollie while moving, and I haven't built up the courage. I took your advice and learned the little things that I skipped such as stopping with my tail, tick tacking and power sliding. Knowing that I learned something new made me feel good, something that I haven't felt since 5 months ago when I learned how to stationary Ollie. Today I finally tried the moving Ollie and landed it. What I'm saying is never skip the basics, because that little step may hold you back for a very long time.#pushskateboarding

I just landed my first straight ollie by doing the arm movement you showed Lance... I was getting so frustrated, and I really didn't know how my shoulder was turning or how to keep it straight. And then I did the little dance, and I thought about bending at both the knees and hips to keep my weight centered on the board, then I threw my arms up like that while ollieing... and it worked. Thank you, Aaron.

+Abdulrahman Khoja I'm 35 and I'd been wanting to skate ever since I was like 18.. I finally started last year and now I can do a pretty decent ollie and I'm starting to progress to faster, higher ollies, 180s, and some ramp stuff. So 15, 25, 35... pretty much the same as long as you put a decent amount of hours into it (the main reason I think kids can learn much faster since they have a lot more idle time to spend)

I learnt how to ollie moving yesterday, the whole reason I couldn't do it before was because I wasn't putting enough weight forward, I was keeping myself back. Hope this helps anyone having trouble - try jumping forward, putting weight forward, to go WITH your board.

So it was the leaning forward while staying centered a little more and bending my knees a lot more lol to help me balance more after landing, Also that arm motion definitely helps going straight up and down for better balance, now I can actually ollie while moving! This Video is Great!

Nice channel Brailleskateboarding! I like your learning approach. I think the reason he's rotating is because of his footing. I noticed the side of his front foot is like 45 degrees to the front bolts. It looks like the fingers of his front foot is overextended almost like doing a heelflip. His front foot needs to be parallel to the front bolts.

I know you may never read this Aaron, but if you or anyone else can help it would be much appreciated. I have been skating for at least 6 months now so I'm pretty sure I am comfortable in my board (kick turns, carving, etc.) If I try an Ollie stationary or moving I can't get my back trucks off the ground. Everything this fine in the front with the foot dragging so I believe the problem is definitely in the back. It kind of looks like a rocket Ollie with no pop like this: /: If there is anything that you can suggest that will help my case please respond as soon as possible, thanks.

Yo Lance, I thought your ollies were awesome. I am a beginner as well and i am tall and a little older, Kindof like you, well atleast you seem tall and around my age. But this video definitely inspired me to get out and work on some ollies and ollying over some stuff. So thanks. Keep up the great work Lance and Aaron. Love the videos.

I know this video is 2 years old but I also think that Lance keeps turning the board when he ollies because of the position of his front foot. I noticed it because i used to/still do the same thing sometimes but his front foot is to diagonal, almost looks like he's gonna kickflip instead of ollie. That would also explain the turn of the shoulders because when his foot slides up it slides diagonally, which pulls the rest of his body that way

I have a question for Lance: Seems like in your newer vids your ollies are A LOT straighter than older vids like this one. Did you ever do anything specific to try and correct that or did it just get better with time? Thanks!

Aaron kyro I need help with landing my Ollie's I've been practicing in the grass and using cracks in the road to help stabilize I can get the board to ollie but the problem I'm having is that while in the air it shoots out in front of me to where I can't land on the board not sure if its because I'm doing it stationary or if it's a step that I'm doing wrong please help me lol

I realise when hes going to ollie something he has his body facing the object, i think the reason all his ollies are turning FS is because his torsos already twisted, and like aaron said his landings are compensating. Either way good work dude keep it up, lol and remember to keep them shoulders square
