Can you buy bloodworms from a bait shop
@Teddybearrodgers7312 күн бұрын
Hi mate I just come across your channel and I am new to the Gold Coast and I have fish freshwater most of my life. Just wondering what rods you are using and it looks like alvey reels. Thanks for your help.
@Will_Lee_Fishing12 күн бұрын
There is plenty of good fishing to be had on the coast. I use Gary Howard rods and in this one I’m using a Breambo 4W and a Club Special. If you are going to use Alvey reels with them, you want a “low mount” reel seat. If you are going to use a spin reel, you will want a “mid mount” reel seat. Cheers 🎣

Great content 👍 Gold Coast local here too. Can you give a run down on your rods and Alvey size ?
@Will_Lee_Fishing2 ай бұрын
Thanks mate! The red rod is a Gary Howard Breambo (4w) and the black one is a Gary Howard Club Special and the reels are both 5” Alveys (500A5). I like both of these set ups for fishing off the shore and from the boat 🎣

When you say 'blood worms' do you mean the live ones that they sell at tackle shops that someone catches on a beach?
@Will_Lee_Fishing12 күн бұрын
Typically you can get two types of live worms from a bait shop, Beach Worms and Blood Worms. Beach Worms are great in the surf but in the estuaries, I prefer the blood worms. And then there is live African night crawlers which are an earth worm and they are used for freshwater fishing.
@dominicmapstone11 күн бұрын
@@Will_Lee_Fishing I looked up how people catch blood worms - by digging with their hands just beyond the mangroves. Do you know if they are widely sold in bait shops (SE-QLD) or you just have to dig your own?

@@Will_Lee_Fishing cool. I have a bunch of Snyder glass and Wilson rods. Estuary, light surf and heavy surf rods. My estuary is like the Gary Howard rods. 10'6" and in the old fibreglass ratings would be 3126, 3 wrap 126 inches long (10'6").
