first time ever for a comment here, I have been watching your last month problems with your eye while my left eye was missing a lens. 30 days ago they managed to get a new lens in place and tomorrow will be finding out how well it has taken. After 3 tires on this eye, I've had enough. I can see that you did also!

Congratulations on being released to light duty, that’s a huge step in healing and especial great for mental health. As I’ve said before my Land Pride clam shell grapple and the backhoe are my two favorite attachment on my L2501. I was real excited when y’all got the grapple especially after all the snow and ice damage you had last winter!

Good to see you back in action. As a bit of information for all, depth 3D perception is really only very close. Further objects are assessed by comparisons (going on very quickly in the brain). I had an eye patch a couple of times due to a scratched eyeball, I could drive fine (and ok by the doc). Now given, one eye was covered so I did not have conflicting information. One of Japans top scoring aces in WWII was blinded in one eye in 1942 and went onto fly fighters again (apparently effecti8vely though the US had much better fliers when he got back into combat as well as much better fighters)
@gregoryschmitz21318 ай бұрын
@@squatch253 I was good with the patch and could navigate well, I can see how confusing it would be with two eyes and one not working. Could you try to cover up a lens or is it not enough to bother with? (or maybe not work right with the recovery?)

Nice that things are getting better. White birch tree. Ya, not so good if it’s not processed as soon as it cut down, or blown down in my case. Working on my birch the last few days. Blown down by hurricane Fiona sept last year. Was cut up this year in April. Splitting it for the last two weeks along with other blown down trees. Most of the birch prices 6” and smaller were going bad. And the bark of it nasty. Some of the bark off the trunk was 3/4” thick. Including the paper. She was a big tree. Have a rest day. Good to hear things are better.

Hey Toby. I know it feels good to be able to accomplish something after being down for a while. Just be careful not to get too anxious about the things that need to be done. It's too easy to overestimate what you're ready for and cause a setback. We are hoping you'll be patient and let yourself heal properly so you can get back to normal activities at the right time instead of too soon.

Eat your Heart out Pete from Just a few acres farm. He had mentioned a grapple fork for his 656 and loader in a video not long ago but then shook his head. Actually I think he was weakening a bit though. We had a grapple fork on an old Dual loader and 830 case since the late 70s and loved it. I want one for my skidsteer but I can borrow one from my nephews. I am so glad things are progressing well for you Toby. Take care!

I spent the first year after my heart attack either going to doctors or sitting in the house. 9 years later I am using a cane and a walker and a golf cart to enjoy my time out in the shop. Enjoyed the video, we presently use a mechanical only grapple, no hydraulics. It doesn’t open as wide, but use only the curl action of the FEL and works well enough to move trees and debris around the farm. Glad you are doing better

Toby: Great work with the grapple. You stated pre WW2 cats were not built for doxing but for drawbar work. New tractors list engine hp ratings and pto hp ratings; older tractors were rated for drawbar hp and belt hp. How does pto hp compare with drawbar hp on todays tractors? Thanks for in insight. Tom

I can relate to the cabin fever you suffered with. I lost partial vision in my right eye from an optic nerve arterial occlusion. Lost center vision mainly in the area you use to read. It is a hard adjustment to loose the depth perception but you will adapt. Keep the videos coming. I enjoy them all.

Great to see you out and about! I'm so happy you got a good medical report. Don't push it, you don't want a set back. I too have had eye problems and suffer from double vision, which also causes depth perception issues. After 15 years or so it's not an issue as much as it is at first. I truly hope your double vision improves. But if not Don't despair the body finds ways to adjust!
