This is a review, setup and operation of the Land Pride RCF2060 rotary cutter or brush hog, if you prefer. The demonstration of using this cutter is some very tall and thick grass that was very wet. This is what I cut on a regular basis. This is a 60” wide cut and I use a New Holland TC45D tractor which is 45hp.
Correction on the tractor horsepower. 20-65hp is the recommended horsepower rating according to the manual.

Make sure you’re running the tractor at 540 RPM’s and the rear of the cutter needs to be higher than the front to allow for discharge. Great video for a beginner.

Hello Project Nine Oaks! The Pats System has been one of the best purchases I’ve made. It makes hooking up anything to my TC45D a breeze. Especially when I’m by myself. Thanks for watching and commenting! Here is the link to Pats. www.pats3pointhitchsystem.com/page/7229

This area holds water pretty well. When grass is that wet, it takes a lot of power to get it cut and down. This hog has been a workhorse, no doubt.

Hi Gary, hope all is well. I would give you my tractor and all the implements to go along with it. I would take your Cat in exchange. Then I could tell you all about it. Email me if you are interested 🤣🤣 I like watching vids of things I don’t own. That’s how you learn. Thanks for watching and for the kind words. WST

Nice Land Pride Mike! I’m not sure about the operator, but the shredder did a good job.🤣 All kidding aside that was some thick grass. Sure put it to the test. Thanks for sharing.👍🏻👍🏻

Hi Ben, great brush hog you have. Couldn’t find any dealers local to me for Woods. Ended up with the Land Pride and that wasn’t bad at all. The Brush Bull was definitely at the top of the list.

On my Land Pride RCF 2072, greasing the rear u-joint on the pto drive line is a real pain in the rear.... any suggestions? Good video and I especially like the close-ups and audio! Thanks.
@WSTMike
@WSTMike 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Durwood! Glad you enjoyed the video. I will agree with you that there is no easy way to grease the rear PTO driveline. I have seen grease zerks that are extra long. It would make it a bit easier to get to. I’ve not done it personally. If you beat me too it, let me know how it works. Personally, I grease it once a year for 3-4 months use. I just deal with it. If you are in a southern climate and would use it more than I do, that extra long zerk may be the trick for you. Happy 4th! WST

If a 'bolt magnet' is similar to a 'chick magnet', then yes...that I am! Hahahahaha. Nice review, I have a Brush Hog on potential future attachments list so appreciate the info.
@WSTMike
@WSTMike 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Shifty, a bolt magnet has a larger magnetic field, therefore, better than a chick magnet, not to mention “cheaper” I am glad you found the review helpful. Wouldn’t know what to do without it. Take care and see you tomorrow night. WST

Can you tell me why somebody would want to use this set up instead of a zero turn lawnmower on a piece of land like you're cutting? I just had a Kabota tractor with this brush hog passed down to me. I have a lot of grass to cut. The Kabota came with the backhoe the rotor tiller the brush hog mower deck and the box grader. I haven't tried anything on my yard yet but I'm considering trading this set up in for a nice 72 inch zero turn lawnmower. Can you offer any advice?
@WSTMike
@WSTMike 2 ай бұрын
Very good question. I have a commercial 72” Grasshopper mower to cut 2 acres. As good as this mower is, it won’t cut what I’ve shown in this video. The grass is too thick and heavy, especially when wet. That being said, if you just have average grass (lawn) then a 72” commercial grade mower would be better than a brush hog/rotary mower. Do NOT use a those for regular lawn; it’s not the same. That is a very nice package that was handed down to you. You’ll have to decide based on the info I gave you what is the best set up for your land. WST

I have a rcr12(which is like the lowest model) and I already have 2 dents. One came from trying to back over a small 1” tree and I watch the back plate bend. My rotary cutter is used for a hunting lease. There is stuff that gets 7’ high. Do you think this rotary cutter would be a good upgrade for me and could handle it? Also can you take the back off? The brush I cut is so tall it will get jamb up. I have to take the mulcher off the back so it does not bind up.
@WSTMike
@WSTMike 2 жыл бұрын
I do think that what I use would be an upgrade. The gauge of steel is thicker than RCR. You also can take the wheel off, just not the welded mount that the wheel attaches to. Let me know if you have any more questions. WST

It's not supposed to be level. About 1/2" higher in the back. Sounds like it's clogging and making that slamming noise like you hit something.

I Bought a new RCR1860. It had vibration issues from the start. Reported it right away and they offered to help but never did. I left a bad review on their site and they were fast to respond. More promises, no follow up. Three times this happened. Said they would have a regional representative look at it. Three times they made that offer but have never followed up with it. Awful customer service. I offer this to help with any purchase decisions.
