I bought these to fit a 2012 Disco 4 SE. As it is SE it does not have DRL in the main headlight. A very helpful video that takes you though it step by step. The circuit board is now on version 2, but it is easy enough to work out and the layout is better in my mind. It did not take too long to complete, I am not a mechanic, yet still found it easy enough to complete and it should not take any more than an hour or two. The part that held me up was fitting the new fog lights, I know you said they are tight in the video, but I had to file mine back a bit as there was no way they were going to fit. Once that was done then it was plain sailing and work a treat. Thanks

Well it was a bright sunny day, and I fitted this kit. Circuit board has changed in design a little since the video but the image on the website quickly sorted that. Really nice update, a suitable refresh to bring my 2016 D4 a little more update to date. Used my own cable ties as just couldn’t get the supplied to tie, even pulling with pliers it was just too tight. Thanks again 🤓😎🙏

They will work fine - not related to the type of headlights you have. It has a battery voltage sensing circuit.

Another great vid Simon , as you know there is post 2014 headlight protectors available, is there any chance if your team could look at perplex covers for example like ones you do for range rover and I have set for my freelander1 facelift. I am sure there is market for them . Thanks mark

Hi Simon sorry I meant to say for discovery 4 2016, as landrover only did front grills for pre 2014 cars, and I was wondering as there is no any headlamp cover available if perplex one could be made like the ones you do for Range Rover for example. As there is quite a number for post 2014 discos around they may be a market in producing either a grill protectors or perplex cover . Thanks mark

Don't know how any e can see the indicators with the standard LR DRLs...shouldnt they dim/go out when you indicate? Or was what I saw just something to do with the camera angle? Great vid as always Simon

I did think they were supposed to dim. However I know sometimes lights don’t always come out well on GoPros etc so thought it was worth the ask :-)

Yes the 2010 sport needs the bumper to come off.... if you buy the Disco 4 lights from our website these are the ones you need and the loom all fits fine and the instructions are the same ( other than the bumper part ! )

@@paulwhyman8819 Sort of.... same wiring kit... same DRL... but no need to swap the brackets... use the brackets that come with the lights. They are cheaper than the set for the 2008 as we do not need to supply the different brackets ! Follow the D4 video.

Can you use the built in DRL system, is it possible to patch in to the one that controls the DRL in the headlamp?

Does not work. I tried it. I connected the fog DRL feed to stock DRL feed (pin 8, headlight connector on D4 facelift) and when stock DRL dims the fog DRL did switch off... ☹️

Installed the DRL controller on my Puma with Hella LEDs, and the right side is much brighter than the left, as you can see here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJDRnoWklK6oa9U When we measure the voltage, the right sits at 11.80V, but the left is only outputting 11.05V. When headlights are on, they're 8.15v and 7.85v - is this a defective board?

You need to swap the LH lamp to RH side to see if the problem is the lamp or the DRL board.... i suspect its the lamps !

@@L663 No, it's not the lamps: they were both at the same brightness before we connected the DRL controller board. As I mentioned, the measured voltages at the terminals differ by ~0.75v on bright, and ~0.30v on dim.

@@NakkiranSunassee OK try this - swap the output on the DRL board - swap the LH output to the RH lamp etc. Then see if the bright output stays on the same side ( issue with board ) or swaps to the other side ( issue with lamp )

@@L663 Erm, I think you have it the opposite way around: swapping the outputs results in the opposite behaviour. If the behaviour was the same then it would indicate that the lights are faulty. In any case, bypassing the board results in the lights behaving normally. Forgot to mention that the delayed power off after I switch off the car also does not work.

That's a strange idea to make this tutorial on a car that is already DRL equipped... By the way, I can see that the original DRL are not blanking when turning lights are on, despite they are nearly at the same place. As DRL in fog lights are at distance from indicators, I don't think it's useful to use this blanking function...
