Sorry, I agree with Solo. I belueve he is thinking of the coming days, when food may continually rise in price, or possibly more shortages of food. Life & times are changing & I think Solo is being practical in thinking long term of how to be sure his family is fed & talen care of. I think your family could pitch in & make that way of life work! Have a great week!

Hi TOM!!!🤗 I watch your YT channel regularly. I love the flow with your 10 children! Sarah you & I were pregnant w our last child at the same time. I delivered our #5, a lil girl, in October. ❤ While I only have half of your family I too homeschool. I litteraly was just watching this video & just had to comment on it. !!!!! Solo, PLEASE don't stop dreaming AND planning your homesteading farm ideas!! All your beautiful children deserve a humongous piece of land to run free & play/grown up on!! Remeber when you all were at the apple farm?? Your littles were soooo happy to run!! ❤❤❤ As a former city girl, with only a love for modern convinces, I have completely changed my way of thinking and it has been surprisingly sooo much better!!!! Seriously!! My peace has increased by 100000%!!! The past few years, we've done a complete overhaul of our life, what we eat, how we eat, our home duties, home schooling, minimizing etc. We bought a house and did a complete gut job/ renovation of a 100+ year old farm house. (still renovating) We have 3 plots of gardening, of our own from yo its & vegetables!! We are placing orders for chickens, I would LOVE a cow but.not here (not allowed), because we in the country but w convenient restrictions. 😣We are really wanting to live on a couple hundred acres in TN, long term goals. 🤩 Anyway, I'm learning to make adjustments, change over my way of thinking. In a lot of ways you and your family are already there, you already do a lot of homesteading. I commend you for that, and Solo too!! An I've learned sooo much from your videos, too much to list. 🥰 With this long winded post I typed out..😁 I just wanted to say, you all are doing great, and I do look forward to seeing how it all turns out. Farmlife/homesteading is not as country bumpkin as most ppl think anymore, it's actually freeing, including your time. Anyway, I hope this will be encouraging somehow. 🥰

Born and raiseed and moved back to a small town. Several years ago, my mom got a letter addressed as Bonnie Fry, her maiden name, and our county name. That was it. But, the post office knew who she was and delivered it. Another small town, mom, post office story. My mom and her twin were adopted and the man who facilitated that adoption kept in touch with the adopting family, always sending the girls birthday cards and Christmas cards, coming to visit once a year or so. Once they were teens and he had retired, the contact decreased significantly. Twenty plus years pass and he was driving through our town so thought he would see if either of the girls still lived there. He went to the post office, not knowing my mom's married name, but they told him exactly where we lived. They even called mom to tell her. That was a good thing, meant we had about 15 minutes to pick up all the clutter and toss in mom and dad's bedroom, bury dirty dishes in the oven, and run the mop over sticky floors. LOL

Solo it's never to late to plant seeds. Iam growing my own food in my apartment in smart pots. I have dedicated one of my living room windows that gets most of the sun to growing 3 kinds of peppers sweet potatoes. Yes Iam growing sweet potatoes in 5 gallons smart pots. Iam even using a small trash can to grow banana peppers that are maybe bigger then I've seen in the store's. Hope y'all have a wonderful and blessed week and coming weekend. Sending love and air hugs from the central coast of Cali.

@bts-vt1ee
@bts-vt1ee 4 жыл бұрын
joy brooks, it’s not just what people think is Armageddon, take a serious look around you and the predicament this country is in right now. Sheltering in on 80 acres as Solo mentioned is a lot easier than 1/4 acre. Food would be grown organic and fresh, eggs and meat (if you eat it) is fresher. You’re not in close proximity to your neighbor’s possible virus bacteria or germs. The air is cleaner, the water not recycled and sanitized. It’s just a healthier environment. The Bible says that when we see these things happening, earthquakes in diverse places, rumors of wars, pestilences (diseases), nature groaning, etc...it just the beginning of sorrows. I’d rather be out of the city and in the quiet country, instead of in the city where strife will abound because people are hungry, sick, angry and have lost hope.

joy brooks, but haven’t you noticed the frequency and increasing devastation of each subsequent disaster? I remember last year where there was flooding, earthquakes, fires, and hurricanes all happening practically simultaneously within a week. That is nature groaning. I agree that we are near the end...the end of earth as we know it. We live in troublous times and people need to get their hearts right with God.

Small towns are a great way to grow up. Lots of running, playing room, projects to do. Etc. I worked out of town, raising 3 children when a bad storm hit our town. Neighbors picked up my kids and dog and took them to safety. When house needed repairs neighbors again stepped in and even taught my son how to shingle a roof. Its definitely an adjustment but for this single mom it was worth it.

This is for Solo mostly. Remember that feeling that you had when you and the boys went shopping at Aldi's (when you got back from Florida) that time when the shelves were empty? When you have land, animals, and a garden, you never have to feel that way again, or unsure about getting your family fed. I'm with you, and I've owned two farms before we retired, and grew most of my own food. I still have enough land to garden on.

I was thinking a couple of days ago, “when a vehicle goes through a city with sirens going, people get out of the way and don’t think of it again. When that happens in a small town, people watch it to see which direction it goes, because it may be going to someone’s house that they know.” In a small town we are concerned for our neighbors and we know them.

When I was little, my Aunt Alice would load all 9 of us kids in her station wagon (my Mother included) and take us for a ride out in the country. That was 57 years ago. lol Living in a small town, people do tend to know your business. I loved how he said shooting range and the boys were like “yea let’s do it”. 🤣🤣 I think the idea of country life and living off the land sounds good in theory, but you’re right it’s a lot of manual work too. You do have a lot of hands to help though.

Niecy, I think you missed that part in the video. It was a joke. In fact, I'm sure Sarah was remarking on the racism of others (the ones staring at them as if they didn't belong.) Sarah wasn't being racist. That's why I thought it was funny.

I live in a farming town of 1000 people in central Wisconsin. We all know each other, are related to a good portion, and know each other’s business. But we are always there to help each other no matter what. It is a beautiful slower pace of living, and couldn’t imagine it any other way.

We are under "Shelter in Place" starting today at 5 pm. We can only go to job- home and essentials. I am blessed that my job was transitioned to work from home. Everyone stay safe and positive. My hubby works 3rd and is sleeping on the couch so I can work from home in our bedroom (2 bedroom apartment) and my very bored 17 year old daughter is eLearning via her Chromebook.

I heard an off grid tuber say that if you plan on having ducks, it’s best to have a pond bc they need to wade in the water and bathe. She used a kiddie pool and it was a constant chore cleaning it- got dirty real quick. Solo, great leadership. When u all work together it will happen. However, instead of separating boys outside and girls inside chores, have them learn it all bc it will behoove them in their future independence. God bless you folks. I had such a lovely time on your road trip.

If you get a home in the country just make sure you've got a substantial mud room so you don't bring the outside inside. I grew up raising dogs, goats, cutting 6 acres of land(you can let it grow, have it bailed and give it away or use it for any animals) its a nice quiet life. It's work like anything else but to be self sufficient is seeming like a better idea each passing day. It's not difficult when you have one person designated to a chore outside. One paper it looks like a lot of work but you've got a lot of hands. The small town life isn't all that different from city life because someone is gonna have their nose in your business anywhere you go. The positive with small town is it can be tight knit, they care for you and watch out for you. It's actually really nice when you've got a big family because when you get stressed you can just go outside for quiet. Or shoot something lol idk I'm fond of it all but don't be all too quick to dismiss Solo, he may be on to something.

I can relate so much to both of you😄 I used to be a town person so much that I was afraid to move to the country But after moving to the country 10 months ago has been so enjoyable😍 We only add animals to the little farm as we can handle it one by one. Lol Our two children are really enjoying every little bit of it🙌🏾 I was amazed at how my seven-year-old watched our little garden grow day by day last year to see Gods wonderful creation🙌🏾 Best decision ever 😄
