It’s crazy that people would be mad at you for your shopping trips. You’re buying food for 12 people for a month, not like some people who bought toilet paper to last them for years 🤦🏻‍♀️ This is not hoarding, it’s a necessary shopping trip. I love watching these videos!
@cortneydelegan

Jenning Lai you can tell they have 1-2 of everything and that a lot of it is fresh food. If they had entire carts full of meat, canned goods, toilet paper etc it would be a different story. It’s pretty clear that this is a large family just by looking at them. You can’t really hoard eggs and bananas 😉

@@kathys9716 I just watched the video and didn't take it as dismissive, mean-spirited nor condescending. I believe she was just addressing the fact that neither she nor Solo were masked. Different states and even counties have different plans depending upon how lightly or heavily populated it is plus if the curve was leveling or going down. I am sure it was to head off folks commenting negatively and lambasting them for not wearing masks.

We freeze and put lots of things in the pantry. In Germany my brother had to go shopping every other day.

I will say, as a Sam’s Club employee that I appreciate when customers wear them. I am protecting my customers by wearing my mask all day and I wish customers felt the same about protecting me from their germs. I have children I am trying to keep safe at home too. The last thing I want to do is bring it home to them. I live in Nebraska too, and realize it isn’t a requirement, but definitely a suggestion. I love you guys, but please think of those of us who have to be exposed to hundreds of people a day so we can continue to feed our families.

MomKel as much as I protect myself I try my best to help the staff protect from any harm. I think it’s our duty.. I would not just say ‘it’s my choice not to wear one’ just because all the ‘fit’ people are there around a specific time. Not spreading hate.. just my idea.. because at the end of the day the staff also have families who are waiting on them.

I feed all 6 of us for less than $100 every 2 months, BUT we do a lot of work to be that self-sufficient on top of it. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE learning how other people live! I love to see what you guys are shopping for. I'm shocked that people would give you a hard time for ANYTHING. I'm just super impressed by you and your lovely family! I love how organized you are. Hello, I'm from Croatia little country from Balkan and as far as I can see this pasta that you asked about is written on language from Balkan... I'm not sure which one but it may Croatian or Serbian... In this part of world we love to cook and eat clear vegetable or meat soup made from some kind od meat it can be veal, beef, chicken it your choice... Recipe for the soup is that we put cold water in the pot and that add some carrots, potatoes, onions, celery and meat that you choose, add some salt and our mix of season that we called "Vegeta" (it's very nice you should try, we put it on everything) and let that cook on the low heat for 3 hours, once its all cooked we strained liquid in another pot and put that on boil when water boils we put that pasta in, turn the heat on low and cooked that for about 10 minutes and thats it you have nice soup and meat that we serve with some salad... I really don't know if you can use that pasta on some other way but for soups is great.. I'm hoping that I helped you, greetings from Croatia...

Tarhanas is a dried food ingredient, based on a fermented mixture of grain and yoghurt or fermented milk . Here in Greece we cook it a lot as a soup, mostly dyring winter time. The best way my mum cook it is to boiled with water and a little bit of olive oil and salt (boiled until the water is absorbed) and then add milk and feta cheese in it (and boiled for another 5 minutes)! Served hot! :)

I lived the first weeks of this virus in Spain and the rest in Norway. Spain, Tenerife(lived there the last 4 years)had a strict lockdown, kids could not move outside ,you could only go to the shop or pharmacy, no walks ,no school, grocery shops empty...you need to use a mask,gloves . We came to Norway(my birthplace) to stay with my parents. We had 14 days of quarantine, then we could go for walks, kids play outside , adviced to keep 2 meters distance with other people, shops are full of groceries, there are hand sanitizers at all shops to use when you enter and leave the shop. Food got CHEAPER as the big grocery shop owners Said they could handle putting the prices down as they are selling alot now, to help the people in this difficult economic situation we are in .schools closed but they are now open again. Spain has been hit much harder then Norway, there is only 210 deaths here... I feel bad you need to explain why you did not use a mask, this is different from place to place, and having the experience from living with this in 2 different countries that has had different ways of dealing with it. A mask does not make it so much safer even though it might make you feel like it. Anyway, thanks for sharing Sarah and Solo👍

When and if I have to use these items it will be a treat. I only get 1 or 2 at a time and it seems I am now putting flour, sugar and spices on my emergency items. So much is rationed in PA. I have been stocking up on peanut butter and tuna as they might become my protein this summer if shortages continue. You are so right about touching your face when wearing masks! It is mandatory where I live and I am forever adjusting my mask around my nose also I wear glasses and they keep fogging up. Who would have thought toilet paper and Clorox wipes would be a luxury item. Lol
