Great job like always, I've done a few of shower marble and I'm not a big fan, even with the 12x24 marble, I find natural stone in a shower wet area is always darker with soaking in water

Yes unless you feel like sealing it up every year marble in a shower is bad it needs to breath and will soak up everything that hits it colored shampoos included 👀😅

2 sincere questions. Was there no need for an uncoupling membrane on the floor? Why didn't you use 1/32 clips and wedges to help prevent lippage? Really enjoy and appreciate all your videos and admiring your top quality work. I'm always learning something new from watching your channel.

The stone tile he is using in this shower is much too small to use leveling clips. This guy is a real setter and knows how to install this material flat.

Uncoupling membrane is not necessary on concrete, most times it's used for a wood subfloor as it will have more movement. Uncoupling membrane is similar to using backerboard on a subfloor. Clips and wedges are not necessary either depending on the tile and if you've been tiling for a long time and do quality work, you can easily get no lippage while tiling. Also since marble is much softer than something like porcelain, it's possible the wedges could break the tile with the force of the clamping, especially since the tiles are smaller.

bro you have to cut the very edges of the quartz seat so its flush with the marble L-cut pieces . if you know your marble walls finish at 1/2 inch, then take an angle grinder ( you can do this after you install the seat top) and go in at a 90 degree angle to the 2 long sides of top, but just at the very edge of quartz and make a cut so the edge will equal a half inch. i usually set my first few tile rows then plumb up to make a mark on the edge of seat top, this way the L-cut tile doesnt have a big grout joint around it. i know your re tiling the seat but for future. i also do something similiar when i make my own soap corner shelves, as i never imbed the very edge of the soap dish into the cut out wall gap and in that instance i make a notch at the very ends of shelf, so the last bit of the dish sits on top of tile and not in the groove... besides that it looks freaken killer. .... it sucks because i and others have said you should install seat top first, and now you cant get the sucker out....i know all of us can sit back and critic stuff we see and its really not right, but whenever i do these marble nitches with polished ends i personally think it looks better when your not looking at those polished edges straight on. its a lot harder but especially since you laid it out so perfectly with no L CUTS, i would of polished the front pieces or the field pieces instead of the inside nitch pieces, but that i guess is perhaps a matter of taste...i would of however probably kept the bottom nitch sill facing out like you have it and maybe over hung it about a quarter inch

Pica has a very fine marker if you're worried about washing off. Also they have different leads and wax type markers.

@@LandbergTileTV copy that. My rigid started as a single project tool and turned into a business tool. 8 years later I'm replacing it. Deck is so bad that on a 24" rip I'm 3/4 off by the end of it. Multiple times spent squaring it but it just worn and a half way poor design imo on the wheels that ride the rail and allows deck wobble. Thanks for the reply and I'll give the Dewalt a go. 🤙🤙

4:07 would be cool for softer musak & you doing voiceovers throughout telling us what ya thinking when doing this/that cut, design, and so on…… Giving us a peak into your mind of processes and such, as (& I’m sorry for this) for me, I get “wee bit bored” listening to musak & watching time lapsed 2x-5x (whichever ya do if do) footage of you installing tile. I’d rather hear a story, tips/tricks, and what not of how things going instead (again sorry but being honest, & don’t have to do every vid, but would be awesome for above format to be one few times a month for vids: maybe even certain projects, like have an install that’s not a typical or “whatever”…but hope get the idea and POV). Anywho……thx for the vids and that hard work making and sharing your work day as tile contractor etc… Cheers✌🏻☺️
