Landlord Refuses to Fix Tenant's Broken Door

I lived in apts (edmond ok) for 6 months before leaving. From day 1, the door would not lock. 3 months in, they removed the broken deadbolt. That was 2017, they changed companies in 2019. Aaaand i just got a letter last week of suing ME for breaking the lease 😂

Atleast here 🇸🇪, doors and windows not locking is on the same priority list as Heating / Electricity went out or water leak. These are all emergency repair jobs and needs to be done ASAP.

That's when you call someone to come fix it yourself then deduct it from the rent.

Not always legal. And in some states, you can only deduct UP to 100$

There are countless ways to fix that situation. Stay or leave aren't remotely your only options. I'd say the first problem you need to fix is your black and white outlook on life. Come to the grey were all possibilities are possible. The easiest thing you could do is find something to keep the door closed.
