Most prominently, Micheal Schumacher was a successful and seasoned endurance racer before he ever toutched F1. He mainly raced in the legendary Group-C era, mainly racing with Sauber-Mercedes, and their dominant C9. It is said his endurance experience is what contributed to his dominant F1 career. By nature from his experience, he can drive at 100% for several hours - something only the top-level endurance racers can perform: a rare trait.

this was actually the case with a ton of drivers. before ya know. they were poached and Group C was killed off by the devil himself Bernie. Senna had raced DTM and Group C stuff, Mikka, Michael, Martin Brundle, and many many more all raced endurance and Group C or Group A before being brought to F1. I think if Lando had a slightly better car he would be a fighting for wins better than Leclerc.

@@Wolfe_No.13 Many F1 drivers like you mention had their hand in Group-C, but Schumacher and Roland Ratzenberger both had the most Endurance experience out of all the F1 drivers of the time. It was the bery foundations of their careers / skills.

@@Wolfe_No.13 Where does the Senna DTM thing come from? I didn't find anything for both Ayrton (whom I assume you're talking about) and Bruno. It also would've been a bit weird, considering that the DTM only came into existence in '84 (although it was DPM for its first two seasons) and at first was actual touring cars, not the madness of the class 1 90s cars or something akin to the in name only touring cars that made up the "silhouette car era" of 2000-2020. My go to examples of noteworthy pre-F1 DTM careers would be Paul di Resta and Pascal Wehrlein, more commonly you'll find drivers going to DTM after their time in F1 like Häkkinen, Alesi and Glock (although both di Resta and Wehrlein returned to DTM after F1)

@@merobo5066 i wouldnt consider Paul di Resta's DTM career noteworthy tbh

@@Wolfe_No.13 How so? His pre F1 DTM career alone qualifies for what I would deem "noteworthy". While his 2nd stay in DTM was less successful, he still won multiple races during that time. His DTM career in total has both the quantity (he raced for 10 seasons, 9 with Mercedes 1 with Aston Martin) and quality (11 race wins total and champion 2010) to qualify as significant. Also can you please clarify where you got Senna's supposed DTM career from?

I like the music. It reminds me of the 1990's and just feels right. Norris is absolutely World Champion material.

2018 was my first and so far only Daytona as a spectator, but it won't be my last. I really loved the atmosphere and access. Loved every minute of it.

There were plenty of flat tires but barely any cautions. That helped in breaking the distance record that stood for 36 years.
