Thanks for all the info. The power source connector recommendation was really helpful. I have a buddy who is using his this weekend to tow me up the hill for mountain bike shuttles so this is really going to help with that!!

2022 Kodiak 450 EPS here, it's all the same set up as yours. Same winch and mounting plate and all. When we went to remount the bumper with winch it was so tight we had two tough guys on it to pull and twist to get the bumper bolts to line up. It was so tight to get the bolts in it seemed impossible. Was it a struggle to do this on yours or slap right on? I feel like bumper and top rack had a lot of binding to get the bolts in any of it.

Mind mounted right back up very easily. I did mount this winch when the ATV was fairly new so that probably helped.

This is a new machine bought from the dealer with 30 hours on it right now. We got the winch on and works good but the vrx 25 winch does not fit right it hits the plastic shroud in front of radiator. We had the winch turned around and tried both ways and did not use the mounting plate spacers or definitely would not work. It pushes on that plastic shroud hard and that shroud is the whole front end piece. It works on the 2022 but does not fit properly on mine even though RM says it does.

Quick and dirty is an understatement! The video didn't show much at all.

If somebody needs more detail than this they should probably just take it to a dealer. Thanks for watching!

thanks for the tutorial. Do you think the Yamaha supplied cables are long enough to reach the Warn solenoid if you installed the solenoid in the underseat storage compartment? You mounted yours closer to the winch, under front center plastic cowling.
@ThomperBeThompin9 ай бұрын
I think they should be able to, but I can't say for certain. You can always switch up the color of your wires too if needed based on length and mounting locations. Amazon has pretty affordable low guage wiring for winches too. So, it's not too expensive should you need to order some longer wires.

Si where did you plug the part you bought from partzilla.? My Kodiak has the prewire too. The front and rear, thug I check with a tester and found out those wires the black n red are NOT connected to the battery, they run from rear to front And those cables need to be connected where.? The rear ones.? The front ones.? Where do they have to go ?

Really helpful video! Can you please tell me where you got the power source connector?
Those two rectangular black bars that are laying next to box in your video... are they supposed to be installed under yamaha's plate to give it support or are they a spacer to raise warn wench? I ask because I didn't install them either and now I'm thinking they should have been installed under so bolts won't pull through flimsy Yamaha plate??? Great video by the way.

I believe they are just spacers for clearance. I sunk this quad a few times in some cold mud and this winch pulled it out no problem .

Thanks for the great video. Curious, what 12V power source did you disconnect and tie into the partzilla wire harness lead? I know theres the 12v cigarette outlet, obviously the key switch, and probably a couple other 12v sources. Not sure, which one is most convenient to connect to. Thank you.
@ThomperBeThompin Жыл бұрын
When you take off the front plastics, the 12 volt to the cigarette lighter has a white plastic connector. You can buy the Yamaha wire lead and plug it into that. That's what I did, and it comes with two bullet style connectors so you can hook up your winch and another accessory if you want.

I just noticed that your bike doesn't have diff-lock. I thought the EPS model came with it as standard.
@ThomperBeThompin2 жыл бұрын
This is a 2020. Maybe the more recent models do. I know it's available on the SE model at least as an option.

@@ThomperBeThompin I did some research and the 21 and 22 EPS models come with it as standard. Retails for $9600 Canadian plus all dealer fees taxes etc.

For real. About 650 miles on these tires, only a small amount of noticable wear so far. Still doing great, in fact, headed out for a night ride right after I type this!

why do you need the winch plate for? why can't you installed on the bumper it self???
@ThomperBeThompin2 жыл бұрын
It's all because of the mounting holes aligning. These winches are mass produced to fit many different applications, which makes a mounting plate necessary for almost all those applications. The winch bolts to the plate, then the plate bolts to your machine.
@EnmanuelTorres242 жыл бұрын
@@ThomperBeThompin ok but if you can see the ones that comes on the SE model do not have that plate. I think you can mount the winch directly on to the bumper.!

my yamaha dealer wants $860 plus tax to provide a 2500lb warn winch and install it. Is that a good deal?
@ThomperBeThompin2 жыл бұрын
You can save about $400 if you do the install yourself.
