Thanks David, I am enjoying this well presented and detailed lesson. Your presentation method truly suits my learning style. I am particularly encouraged to apply my limited technique ability to Travis picking. So far, I am making progress on this. I have previously attempted this to try to learn Simon & Garfunkel's ' The Boxer'. I gave up in favour of 'muddling through' with thepicking. I am encouraged to have another go at it now. If you ever get around to doing a similar lesson approach on The Boxer to this, I would be right onto it. I first came across your work with your lesson on Romeo and Juliet. It took me ages to get that one down, but your printouts were always there to bring me back to the important elements. Thanks for your excellent work.

I use my thumb on E A D, index on G, middle on B, and ring on e. I like the idea of using just thumb and index but I'll have to discipline my middle finger to stay off the B. Learning "Love is All" by The Tallest Man on Earth really helped my travis picking. It would be a good song for you to "note"

I used to do the exact thing with my thumb and index finger. I could actually get pretty good results with it, but I think it’s really about the economy of movement and rhythm somewhat. Just learned 4 and 20, phenomenally rewarding song. Much easier than I thought but that DADDAD tuning is haaaard on G strings lol. Sounds like you’re enjoying this as much as I am. David is a great teacher and love that deep voice for a different take on the song. Keep picking my friend and have a great evening.🎸🎸🎸

The placement of the capo at fret three is not some mysterious magic. It's just the best key for Stevie Nicks's voice. "Landslide" is a difficult song to sing; don't handicap the singer by playing the wrong key for the singer's voice! Find the capo placement so that the guitar matches the vocal range of the singer. If you are the singer, then this song will probably take a least as much vocal practice as the finger picking takes. While you are practicing, try moving the capo to different frets in order to find the right place for your voice.

I can't help directly but check this out - www.hooktheory.com/theorytab/view/fleetwood-mac/landslide - change the key to C - you can see the melody notes. You'll need to know your notes on the fretboard (e.g. in open position) but this may help! Good luck with it.
