Crazy, I played talent shows at this kids' high school. (He always won) The drummer in my band at the time had a brief stint with him. His dad played bass for him and it was amazing. I remember when Ricky was in high school, he and his dad did a performance of the wind cries Mary by jimi hendrix, and the whole auditorium was blown away. Look up his cover of fire by hendrix on KZbin. Just search the Ricky Duran band. Also, look up his cover of Georgia On my mind by Ray Charles and his daft punk, "get lucky" cover. It's weird thinking I've been to his house multiple times seeing where he's at now. He's always radiated success. I'm happy for him. Sorry for the long-winded comment. But if you think about it, second place on the voice is better. Same amount of exposure, but more freedom with his music
