Good vid Daley. I've the same spec L2. I only seam sealed the 2 x guy out points at either end as everything else was taped. Nothing leaking! Going to put internal ridge line for hanging stuff and will deffo change the doors set up to be like your mods, it looks so much more practical. Hope that seam seal didn't turn out like a 'blue rinse' as the brush looked a little funky before you dipped in the sealer.
@DaleyOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I thought it was all taped but have seen loads of posts about sealing them. Won’t do any harm I guess. The brush had lovely coloured bristles (rather than being clogged up with stuff) so it turned out fine 😁Thanks for watching mate 👍

Got the bunny ears and pegs. Just waiting for our mate Ali to deliver some thicker guy line cord and a hammock tidy for the tent roof and then I'll be modding my rakoon. Have also got my eye on a cloud peak 2 but I've not used my rakoon enough apparently 🤗

Got the bunny ears ready, seam sealer and other tightening rings I took off my old MSR (I'll use for the inner). Ditto swapped the old MSR bag for the 3FUL bag because it's a hassle scrunching the tent back in again. 6 mini-clips & bungee cord for the tent midpoint lower edges to stop them flapping about (you could stitch loops on instead) as I've seen mentioned in a few vlogs. Also paracord (to hang stow bags or a tent torch on) for the ridgeline as per Rambling On ... oh and you can use those smaller pegs & some bungee cord for staking out the (additional) groundsheet !

Hi. The pro version tents are silicon fabric and require a silicone based waterproofer for the seams. According to UltralightOutdoorGear, Stormsure do not make a product for "silicone infused fabrics". Hope this helps someone.

Thanks Mike .... I didn’t know that .... it probably explains why my storm seal hasn’t worried properly on my Lanshan 2 pro and has dried looking like it has white string ends hanging off then seals 😂😂
@Flexaret3 жыл бұрын
I don't have a Lanshan but on the subject of seam sealer I always make my own by mixing regular clear silicone sealer and white spirit at a ratio of 3-4 :1 sealer/spirit, always worked for me. One thing I found kinda funny was that you swapped out the lineloks for metal guyline tensioners, not that I think you're wrong but it wasn't long ago everyone was swapping out metal runners for lineloks. If you're looking for super strong, super thin guyline try Marlow Excel Pro, it's racing dinghy control line 2mm or 3mm dia, (30 metres of 2mm or 17 metres of 3mm for around £10)

there are seams on the inner tent you also still need to seal, on the bottom and one above that. Another youtuber (Homemade Wonderlust's Dixie) forgot that one and it leaked there because her tent didn't have perfect tension (and that can just happen on the trail).
@jeans2679 Жыл бұрын
I believe hers was the Lanshan 2 pro the single walled variant (confusing). Its a different material as well. Its sold unsealed from factory, you'll have to do it yourself.
@d.2110 Жыл бұрын
@@jeans2679 true, it was the pro. The normal double walled ones are sealed. I eventually got the lanshan 2, brown, 2 person, with 3 season inner tent. It was good in Sweden with rough wind and lots of rain. I used big rocks on top of the pegs, that's good enough. The seems were perfect. You just have to make sure the tent is put up well, not saggy. Bacause when the inner tent touches the outer tent, of course, some drips can happen. I made my own ground sheet very easily and cheap btw. An advantage about this tent is that you can put it up and break down in the rain without it getting wet on the inside. Among many other things. I wish it was possible to put it lower to the ground more easily though. I tried, but the pitch became a bit difficult or weird, but it can be done, just by making your trekking poles shorter (110cm). Then less wind (it was freezing on my trip) will reach the inside.
