I'm at the beginning of the vid. From your accent you sound like your English, and this is how the English heavy camp. When I "Family" camp, where you bring everything but the kitchen sink. The American version is to fill the back of your full-size pickup truck with equipment. This will include an 8-man tent which holds a queen size air mattress very nicely, a screen tent so you can eat at the given picnic table and not have to share with the local fauna, you'll have at least 2 gas lanterns and at least a 2-burner stove along with your grill. For entertainment we have a DVD player hooked up to a small screen for a movie. Along with several 5-gallon water jugs and a large amount of unmentioned items. This is how Americans "Heavy" camp. yes, no kitchen sink but we settle for a large metal bucket set over the fire to warm up for washing
@DaleyOutdoorsАй бұрын
I’m a wild camping/backpacking channel. This is the “heavy” version of that. What you describe is just called camping in the UK 🤓

I car camp and soon to really start ebike camping with a trailer and at my age 63 I like as much comfort as possible but I always take too much kit. 😁 Having leccy for a 40w leccy blanket is becoming an essential part of my kit along with my 300W power station. 😜

I saw you had to move the tent around to find a decent pitch Nen, maybe this problem could be reduced substantially by camping in the back garden? Less chance of near or wolf attack, good foraging possibilities in eg the house fridge, and in a worst case scenario you are closer to a landline in case you need to call the coastguard.. 🤣👍🏻 BnS!

Hi Ben, At first I thought Ben has gone a bit mad! A electric heater, toaster and kettle! Then I thought Premier inn without the £75! Cost! Then the penny dropped no mini bar😢😢😢😢! If Premier inn doesn't have a mini bar just play along! Then I thought surely that trolley could carry a dozen or so tinnies along side the mini power bank! This video has been a eye opener to the possibilities of camping without hiring a camping pod or yet! I have a tight arses option! Make the toastie at home wrap in foil tightly and place in a zip fit bag to be heated in a pan of boiling water later then instead of kettle get a good quality flask and fill with boiling water just before leaving for camp! This will free up lots more space in pull along trolley for a 24 pack and your tent and gas canisters! You may be unaware of this but half way through your fantastic video a add came on for a very stylish Japanese watch the type James Bond would wear, Normally £500 but now only £35! I think if you ask the wife nicely it would look great in future video's! Have a great camp xmas😂😂😂! All the best! Mark!

Haha thanks Mark. I need to find that watch!

Thought I packed heavy!!! I grabbed an Anker power station and a cheap solar panel recently. Its about 10% of your output, but its a lot lighter and cheaper. Not expecting much from the panel living in the UK. 😊 Have you charged it, then emptied and charged it a second time? You may find you get a little bit more power the second time.
@DaleyOutdoorsАй бұрын
I’ve run through it 3-4 times now but have been using different devices on it and not really watched it too closely 🤓

@daleyoutdoors mine charges phones and devices at an incredible speed, and can keep the wifi router running if we lose power. That was my main purpose. I'm definitely not lugging it up the mountains... Clever technology, I think these days we should all have a backup.

Ben, well, that was kinda sorta like "genre-challenging". You, ostensibly, used and reviewed some new outdoor kit...yet there was something different, even off-key about it. I think I once said, in affectionate jest, that you seem to be aiming to be "the Anti-Messner". Is this perhaps the first video in a new Wild Camper/Outdoor hiker sub-genre, the "Anti-Gear Review"? Meanwhile, back on "Wolf Watch", have you seen that insufferable Luke has scored 100,000+ views on a video about a Belgian outdoor KZbinr who just died on a cold weather camp (for his channel) in Lapland? Let no tragedy be unwasted for your KZbin metrics!😀😅🤣😂
