But something very interesting I never thought about. Do people who speak different languages really laughthe same as people who speak the same language but different from other people speak a different language? I always thought the way you act was an under your control that's why some people have really stupid sounding laughter. I mean except for coarse Japanese girls they all laugh the same. That's a joke
@FarikoWishless
@FarikoWishless 4 жыл бұрын
@@zekezzekekan2144 I think who you're surrounded by effects your laugh more than you think. I have my own laugh but there's more than one way to laugh and I've noticed my parents laughs in there and they clearly picked it up from somewhere as well. Even down to your neighborhood a more connected always buddy buddy neighborhood would probably foster an extroverted type loud laugh openly showing joy. Where as somewhere more silent type might mean you giggle softly more than laugh. Personality is a factor. There's so much influence we don't think about. Shit even age I dam sure don't laugh the same as I did as a kid.
@RobleViejo
@RobleViejo 4 жыл бұрын
@@zekezzekekan2144 Not only that, it has been proven that your way of thinking and personality change slightly when you speak another language. I speak Spanish and English and Id consider myself more calm and paused when speaking English. When I speak in Spanish its a train wreck, I can speak very fast. I tried to learn mandarin, japanese or korean but there is no school whatsoever here (I'm from Argentina) and Im very bad at self teaching, I have no discipline.

@@MrMrPopols Not necessarily true. Obviously, I am not speaking from experience as there is no real way to compare difficulty unless I was simultaneously a native Chinese speaker who tried learning another language and a speaker of another language trying to learn a Chinese language, but the reason why Chinese is so difficult is because it is tonal. As I said, I don't know of the difficulties a person would face that only knows tonal languages while trying to learn a non-tonal language, but it is very unlikely that the challenge is equal. Another thing to note is that google seems to agree with me that tonal speakers don't have that much trouble with non-tonal languages.

@@juanpalomo5532 I think obscure is the best way to put it. I'm not even sure how one would go about learning it, short of living in Sichuan. China literally has thousands of dialects, and unlike English 'dialects', they actually can't communicate with each other verbally in most cases. That's why everyone in China is encouraged to learn Mandarin, which is itself just another dialect (from the Beijing area).

It's crazy how much more respect you get when you can speak the person's native tongue.

@@prod.byGats couldn’t have said it better myself. Language is a part of the culture, so there’s deeper significance when you learn other languages. I’m bilingual English and Spanish, and whenever I speak Spanish after speaking English with unsuspecting people who primarily speak Spanish, their faces light up. It really is an amazing feeling and I highly recommend folks to learn a second language if they’re able. A whole new world literally opens up to them.

For anyone watching his videos being very skeptical. I'm 100% Chinese mandarin and i understood 100% of this conversation from both sides. And his captions are spot on, even the punctuation with the ?????? at the end of sentences were not over exaggerated. For example, when Laoshu said he self taught himself, the old man really did say Really????? your self taught??????? The old man was genuinely surprised.

Ty for clearing up. I understand their skepticism though. He has shown to fake his way though many times before. He practices a few sentences often, and just leaves it at that and can't answer simple things after. In Swedish all I knew was "I speak Sweden". Followed by a slang for "oh really". Very cringe to watch

tossePharmD I’m Vietnamese and his subtitles are a bit off and it just sometimes doesn’t sound right... but it’s amazing how he knows this many languages so I’m not going to argue.
