A superb performance. She is magnificent and magnetic. So so charismatic! Also, from what I saw in a very recent documentary that was done around her 50 tour early in 2020 (and which included a retrospect of her life and many MANY ups and downs and challenges and some things that made my blood boil for her and melt for her and feel for her), it is very clear to me that there is a lot of fodder for depth of the whole range of emotions that Lara uses so well. She is authentic because she has stuff to draw on, and she is continuously making lemonade out of lemon and coming into her very real own. She truly is one to admire - for her work, for her artistry, for her skill, for her humanity. On a personal note, it was interesting for me to see some of her NYC concert (the first in the 50 tour) in the documentary - I was in the audience in that concert, and some of what is in the documentary validates things I picked up on AND makes me admire her even more for her level of professionalism. She is a good egg and the world is better for having her in it. (You ain't too bad yourself, my friend!) I've been a big fan of your channel for more than a year since I saw you react to je Suis malade and I felt like yes this is what Lara deserves, and have emulated Lara Fabian for 8 years now. The first time I left my country was just to see her live in 2016 and I couldn't stop crying for the first 5 minutes as she stepped on stage and her voice poured out. It was a spiritual experience, just ethereal, out of body. Still get goosebumps thinking about that first glimpse. Anyway I just wanted to tell you that she has done some musical theatre. I am glad you stopped by, I am just about to listen to a new song for the first time, you want to listen with me” Lara is my all time favorite female artist, it is really fun to be there when ‘you’ hear a song for the first time, and when it comes to Lara, I couldn’t be more aligned with your response and expressed feelings about her artistry and ‘her’ character. As usual Cristi, an inspiring review. Can I suggest you take a look at Lara's "Extrait de Yentl" sung in her "Pure" concert? It would be interesting to get your impression of her take on her idol, Barbra Streisand,'s classic. She sang the two songs, " Papa can you hear me?" and "A Piece of Sky" live in the one long performance. I heard that Barbra never did the two songs together live.

Her name is Lara because of Lev Tolstoy''s "Doctor Zhivago's heroin, Lara. Her mom loved that novel so much, so she called her that way. Watch the videos! Each song she embodys a different character: here she's a woman who gets a piece of a guy and he gladly lets her do it; in other she's a woman who leaves her husband because he bits her up (Llora); in another she's a 19th century woman who falls for a guy and leaves her old husband (she was forced to marry him) (I don't remember the name of the song); in another she's a preagnant woman who survived a war (Everever land); in another she's a music choir teacher who present a show where kids ask the president to end war (Mr. President); in another she's a 2nd world war prisioner in a nazi camp (Lou); in other she's just a girl in love with a guy (I won't say how the story ends, watch the videos!) (Russian Fairytale); in another she's like obsessed with a guy and she's like a prisioner but because she likes (Toccami). Have you had the opportunity to view/listen to this particular performance of Lara's paired with that of the legendary "Elvis of France" Johnny Hallyday(née Jean-Philippe Léo Smet)? '"Lara Fabian & Johnny Hallyday - Requiem Pour un Fou" (Live at Stade de France 1998)'? As is de rigueur with Lara Fabian, she delivers a powerhouse effort; leaving it all pretty much out there 'on the floor' . A number of critics, contemporaneously, felt that she had gone a bit overboard(a performance replete with her typical trademark theatrical flourishes, melodramatic gestures, character-driven facial expressions, perhaps overwrought belting, etc) in outshining or overshadowing her, at the time, more well-known and established duet partner. Fun fact about Lara Fabian: If you look and listen closely this song is not performed live. When she sings playback her face is more controlled acting than when live. I have seen a version of this song live. You can see and hear a difference in her words and performance. Wow. I'd not seen this performance before, thank you for reacting to it. I wish you understood French. Lara was the director of the talent show Star Académie this year, and will return as such for the 2022 season. Her ability to teach and genuinely care about people was so evident in that show, I'm certain you'd love her even more. Saw her live 5 times so far, scheduled to see her again in October of 2021. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I definitely think she possesses the best female pop voice on the planet. Then there is Lisa Gerrard, the best female alternative voice on the planet. Her English pronunciation has been affected after her acoustic trauma It's diffecult for her to recognize and pronounce some letters in right way cz she doesn't hear herself of course it's not the same for her in french and italian bcz they come natural as they are both her mother tongue or first language It's sad but I always admire her determination and how she improved in this matter but still you can see it clearly

But i never verified if this was an opera, a movie or just music videos. Sooooo many "reactors" and even fans cannot notice that, every time i see they are reacting to a lip synced performance, i mention that. Another video commonly reacted to is Parce que tu pars (from DVD), she is dubbing the cd track. Ok, probably she needed to rest her voice , no problem, she does it less than 0.5% of the time.
